iirc, the Ram was a variant of the M3 Grant, not a variant of a Sherman. The Sherman came after the Ram and was later adopted by the Canadian Armoured Regiments. Go here for more details: http://afvinteriors.hobbyvista.com/ram/ram1.html

iirc, the Ram was a variant of the M3 Grant, not a variant of a Sherman.

I always thought that the Ram II was an M4A5, but the Canadian A4's were the Ram replacement. Now I know that the Ram II was just a Ram I with a 6-pounder. That front end should have been a dead give-away that the Ram was an M3. Now I get it.
