View Full Version : The top reasons: soccer is stupid

I have just found this on the net ( btw, although I live in Spain , I hate soccer ):
Ooooooh ... "Soccer is an intelligent game."
Soccer lovers are much like religious cultists, except they don't kill themselves.
The conspiracy of non-athletic people promoting soccer.
Soccer is usurping resources that real sports should be getting.
Soccer moms.
TAKE YOUR KIDS TO A BASEBALL GAME, YOU IDIOTS!
Alexi Lalas: Looks suspiciously like Rasputin.
Marginally talented kids can dominate and then think they are great.
Play a real sport, punk.
The field is too big.
Injury time. What is this? Stop the clock you weenies.
Europeans like soccer.
Bicycles should be ridden, not kicked.
Non-American football players are scrawny little geeks.
Kicking the ball out of bounds is a strategy.
Would be more exciting if the ball was exchanged for the head of a soccer fan.
Players can't go wherever they want.
No fastbreaks. No bombs. No homeruns.
The final score: 0 - 0.
Penalty kicks to decide a winner?
Why even play at all?
Play the game until someone wins.
Why not just proclaim both teams winners?
We got arms, use them.
And then why is the goalie allowed to use his hands?
Americans liked soccer so much we invented ...
football, basketball, volleyball and baseball.
FINALLY ...
Getting hit in the head with a ball is a good thing.

Granted soccer isn't my favorite sport...but it isn't a bad sport. I would have played it in high school but I had baseball in the spring and football and cross country in the fall. I play soccer almost everyday here in the 90+ degree heat, I get a good cardio from it and it's pretty fun. Football is still my favorite sport, don't be such a wannabe jock and say futbol sucks. ;)
BTW, I can see the flames now! *Puts on football helmet* *Hands scoone helmet* "You're on your own!" "INCOMING!"
Edit: And you know soccer girls are hotter :D

to watch a game of football all the way through, you have to know the teams or support a team, just like any other sport, when you don't know who you want to win it's always lame.

Not much doubt about that. From a worldwide perspective football [your version] is vastly more popular than our sports. I don't know why its not more popular in the US, but I bet that will change. More and more of my friend's children look to soccer instead of Am. football or baseball. I think its generational. The kids of Gen X will likely take your football much more seriously.
I'm not a big fan, but the US doesn't suck at football/soccer do we? I thought our national team was at least competitive. Certinaly not #1, but competitive.

Baseball isn't the most intense sport to watch but it's different when you're playing. Metal cleats + shattered wooden bats? Last time I checked, soccer players cringe when someone mentions metal cleats. Take-out slides to break up a double play, collisions at home plate, "webgems"...baseball isn't for pansies!

I think it does mean we're seventh best in the world. We made it to the quarterfinals of the World Cup (top eight), and we consistently beat our biggest rival, Mexico, who's ranked sixth. I can't wait for the US to whoop England's butt -- your team is a complete mess as long as Beckham is on it, much less being the captain. And your best goalkeeper is "Calamity" James? rofl rofl He would be the fifth stringer on the US team.

He slapped a bandage on it and played the full 90 mins, his white jersey was practically red from the bleeding. How he didn't faint from blood loss i'll never know...long live the guvnor! Also look up the video of Henrik Larsson breaking his leg.....

-no comment necessary

-i think your jealous a soccer player is more famous than any hockey player....
-boring...it can hardly be considered a major sport anymore...the XFL got better ratings than hockey in it's short and sorry existence.... And most hockey experts are crying that the current way the game is played is killing the game and the skill level has dropped tremendously...sounds like a lot of people find hockey boring to me

How cn anyone knock up soccer. I've played for years and seen some terrible injuries cause its not a sport for the weak. It's violent however not to the stupidity of just getting to knock the **** out of your opponent to prevent him from scoring you actually have to be skillful at defense. Soccer requires more endurance than any other team sport cause the field is exponentially bigger than any other sports turf. If u think soccer players are pussies well then stop watching Italian soccer thats all i have to say watch bundesliger (German) or English Premier they are both great leagues. Oh and **** you to anyone who doesnt like soccer (football) you simply dont have the knackers to play it so dont hate what u cant comprehend retards. :slap: :-*$ :fork:
Soccer is recognized world wide as the most loved sport on the planet, the fans speak for themselves.

Aussie rules football, the greatest sport in the world, nothing compares for a combination of speed, strength, skill and endurance woot .
Soccer/football would be great if they scored 15 or 20 goals a match, had no offside, could put a hard tackle or shirtfront on an oponent, didn't celebrate every goal with the shirt over the head or completely off thing and if our best athletes didn't play aussie rules and rugby league so we could be competitive on the world stage.

Then don't act like such a punk when people who [attempt to correctly] use punctuation wonder if you're truly a rambling idiot.

No soccer is not a stupid sport. It gave birth to RUGBY (God's gift to sports).
I personally am not a fan, but any sport that has the following of soccer can't be stupid. Now soccer holigans, that a different matter!
I like that after a soccer fight all the participants are hopping around on one leg holding their other shin from where the other guythey were fighting kicked them.
