Cape Town - The Inkatha Freedom Party on Friday lambasted ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema for his remarks about the IFP and former president FW de Klerk and raised the possibility of legal action.

IFP deputy national chairperson Velaphi Ndlovu said: "The IFP would like to place on record its disgust with the public attack launched by... Malema against... De Klerk and the IFP yesterday [on Thursday]."

Malema reportedly said De Klerk had "sponsored the IFP to kill... we must never compare him to Nelson Mandela. De Klerk will remain an apartheid leader".

Racist attack

Ndlovu said that on a day celebrating the historic release of Mandela and reconfirming the commitment to nation-building, Malema again "ruined all our reconciliation efforts by launching this brazen, unfounded and racist attack against Mr de Klerk and the IFP".

"His comments, 20 years after the release of Madiba, were grossly out of line with Mandela's vision of a united, reconciled South Africa and a clear indication that the ANC is no longer guided by Madiba's visions and principles."

"Malema is fuelling discontent among South Africans; he is a threat to our young democracy and an embarrassment to our country," Ndlovu said.

The IFP would no longer sit back and allow Malema and his youth league cronies to launch attacks on the IFP.

"The ANC's silence on this matter speaks volumes; but we will no longer tolerate Malema's unruly behaviour."

"We have said time and time again that he must be disciplined."

"We are calling on the ANC to rein him in, or we will encourage the FW de Klerk Foundation to join us in seeking legal advice on this matter," Ndlovu said.

Malema is a very dangerous prospect not by his belligerent political stance , but his total bellicose approach to everything not ANC. I fear for our country when a blithering dolt calls for ANCYL members to go for training in the army so that the revolution can continue. And what is even more scarier is the fact that the youth believe him.

Instead of having a long hard look at the ANC's failures at governing , it is much easier just to blame the rest and history for current problems. I pray that I am wrong , but the way the rhetoric in public and in the media flies around with poorly thought out arguments and downright lies it points down the line to just one thing. I do not even want to mention it.

It's always hard to judge these things, but he really seems to keep hammering the same stuff... he might indeed go as far as one day trying to start a war against us white "imperialists", "colonialist", capitalists... If he continues his attempts at starting serious discussions regarding the nationalization of mines liked he did recently, going as far as saying that's what Mandela wanted, the big corporations might show their power colours sooner rather than later.

In this notorious interview by 3rd Degree you can see how he only pretends to be stupid at times:

I grant , that he may be shrewd. But he is schooled in the traditional ANC marxist mindset. And just that may be his undoing. He regards everyone outside the ANC as idiots with no power/access.

I do not want to call him an ultra-nationalist - far from it - he is an ultra-ideologist and rabid racist.

With easily 80% of the taxable GNP in SA being managed by the Black elite and Whites - he is up against some really , and mean Really big power. The net effect is that he is going to hurt his supporters more than help them.

You just can not take on the world with a blue light and a fail grade in woodwork.
