Story about possible nuclear missles found in Iraq.
http://www.washtimes.com/upi-breaking/20040721-081009-2541r.htm
God, I'm torn. Part of me wants this to be true so the whiners will shut it, but part of me says no b/c if they had these three how many more did they have?
Thanks for the post. Have to keep up with this for sure.

Holy sh*t. If this proves to be true, it's huge. Yes - definitely something to watch. I'll withhold my thunderous "in your face" statements until it's verified.

so the whiners will shut it
"What do you mean we'd 'shut it'? They were obviously planted to give George Bush's election campaign a boost..."
(Just playing a Devil's Advocate here, so don't tear my head off. ;) )

Well the truth is I can't believe it took them this long to find them. 2 sheds and I put them in a very conspicuous place more than a year ago and we were beginning to think they'd never get discovered. Worth the wait though. Humble pie for all the libs, what a party. ;)

NOTHING, absolutely nothing will placate the left. Their response will be "three missles, that's all? We went to war for three missles?"

How about waiting until this gets confirmed before producing waves of excitement?

1st:
It has nothing to do with being left or something.
2nd:
The only response necessary is the quote from the article below. Maybe next time? :petting:
Iraq Interior Ministry Says Report on Nukes 'Stupid'
BAGHDAD, Iraq (*******) - Iraq's Interior Ministry dismissed as "stupid" a report in a local newspaper Wednesday that said three nuclear missiles had been found near Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit. A senior U.S. military official told reporters he had no information on the report in the Iraqi newspaper al-Sabah. He said officials were checking the report. Asked by ******* about the report, a spokesman at the Interior Ministry said: "It's stupid." The report, picked up the United Press International news agency, sent the U.S. dollar higher against other major currencies on the foreign exchanges. Al-Sabah opened last year with backing from the former U.S.-led administration in Iraq. The United States and Britain launched last year's invasion of Iraq over accusations that Saddam had stockpiled weapons of mass destruction. But no stockpiles of banned weapons have been found.

Well of course you're right, but I will feel better deep down in my happy place. :D Hardcore Libs are predisposed to hate Bush. Still, if this story is right Rush Limbaugh may physically explode! That will be worht listeining to for sure.

Damn, a joint conspiracy by Iraqi small journalists and Wall Street currency dealers.

It is funny that ******* felt the need to include that tidbit in their story. I mean they can jsut make that flippant allegation liek nothing even happened and they go home tonight feeling good about themselves. That is s**t journalism at work. That isn't even relevant to the story unless UPI and/or the people who told UPI wanted the dollar to go higher. Jeez.

It does seem rather funny that no matter what President Bush did the left (and other detractors) would find some fault.
One reason for going in was that Saddam was violating UN sanctions. We upheld them and then we're told we're not working with the UN.
If we waited longer to go in and there was a new round of mass graves discovered President Bush would be attacked by Moore, etc. for not taking quick action. "'Cause Boat Commander Kerry would have kicked ass!" Or how about, "Stars and Stripes reporter Gore would have kicked ass!" - Eeeeewww! Scary! (Interesting that no one was harping on President Bush's military record the last election.)

Maybe that's why IAEA inspectors are rushing back ....
...... to dispel claims that the nukes could be launched within 45 minutes.

New round of mass graves? Is that just speculation or do you actually have anything to base it on?

No cut , he was saying that if we had not invaded and Saddam had killed another bunch of Kurds with gas, the left would blam Bush for not acting. He acts and the left blames Bush for acting. Its a damned if you do/damned if you don't situation.

Not arguing the 2nd point but as to the first WHO on the Left has ever praised Bush? It has everything to do with being Left. It's simple politics. You can't praise the the other side. This goes for the Right as well as the Left. Politics is is far too cut-throat for most Americans.
I've been "lurking" and not participating in the forum for a month because of some of the overblown political rhetoric from both sides of the aisle that seems to be the rule and not the exception. From what I've read, if you are pro-Bush, opponents label you far right. If you are against Bush, you are on the far left.
I've lived too long and voted in too many elections not to realize that those who are making the most noise represent what I consider extremist views in this great country. There are many decent and honorable folks who support Bush because they believe he is doing what's best for the country. There are also many decent and honorable folks who don't support Bush because they think he, at best, misled them due to faulty intelligence, or, at worst, lied to them about the reasons we went to war.
Conservative and left wing factions are not representative of the American people as a whole. The vast majority are people who vote want the best for their family and country; however, the continuing polarization of the public that is so obvious here on militaryphotos.net and other media would make one assume they were all fringe political nuts.
Register, vote, and accept the results should be enough for most folks without denigrating those who happen to disagree with them. Since the nation is presently split 50-50 in their support of Bush or Kerry, I think it's obvious that whomever you support doesn't represent the will of all the people all the time ;)

What I find odd about the war in Iraq is people who claim to be so big on human rights can't except anything good happening in Iraq and seem to deny the fact that Saddam Hussein killed hundreds of thousands of people.

It could be true, but i find it highly unlikely...
Most recent estimates said it would be 2-5 years before Iraq had a functioning nuclear weapon.
They were working on them though, thats for sure... Look at all the yellowcake that the DOE recovered from Iraq...
The whole Niger "scandal" was the truth afterall.

I don't think anybody is denying that Saddam was rather a nasty piece of work who oppressed an entire nation and terrorized his neighbours.
However, where I live - and I think it's the same all over the (Old) Europe in general - many people have a problem with the process: you do not pre-emptively invade another nation at least without an explicit UN approval. In other terms, without UN the invasion appears to many people as vigilante justice - yes, the guy the mob just lynched was actually guilty as hell, but since the due process was not followed, justice was not done.
(Regarding the UN approval; legally, based on the earlier Security Council resolutions, there might or might not have been a case for invading Iraq. Politically, choosing not to seek one final approval, perhaps giving more time for inspections, was the ultimate PR disaster and a diplomatic insult that led to this dispute)
That's from the public viewpoint. I am sure the governments on both sides had plenty of ulterior motives. Also, please note that I am not taking sides here. I am simply clarifying what's ticking some people so seriously off over here.

Is it me, or has the UN become impotent? Look at Sudan. Why is the UN not there? Rwanada is another good example. But to the here and now, where is the UN approval to send soldiers to Sudan?
