This has to be seen to be believed.
Dr. Martin Kramer, a fellow at Harvard's National Security Studies Program, has posted a speech he delivered two weeks ago in Israel in which he urged solving the Palestinian refugee problem by population control i.e "stopping pro-natal subsidies to Palestinians with refugee status." In other words, starve the Palestinians so they don't have babies and, he seems to be saying, starving the babies so they don't grow up.
That will help reduce the terrorist threat by preventing Palestinian babies from becoming "superfluous young men." It is, Kramer says, those "superfluous young men" who become radicals.
Aging populations reject radical agenda and the Middle East is no different. Now eventually, this will happen among the Palestinians, too. But it will happen faster if the West stops providing pro-natal subsidies for Palestinians with refugee status. Those subsidies are one reason why in the ten years, from 1997 to 2007, Gaza's population grew by an astonishing 40%. At that rate, Gaza's population will double by 2030 to three million. Israel's present sanctions on Gaza have a political aim, undermine the Hamas regime, but they also break Gaza's runaway population growth and there is some evidence that they have. That may begin to crack the culture of martyrdom, which demands a constant supply of superfluous young men.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mj-rosenberg/harvard-prof-urges-popula_b_472191.html

Why even speaking of genocide ?

Palestinian population is growing, isn't the contrary of genocide ?

Nobody said that THERE IS genocide but the author says that maybe this professor advocates genocide.

I saw nothing that advocated genocide even in the slightest. I do enjoy how you used the phrase 'maybe this professor advocates genocide', maybe being the key word.

He's right about cutting the pro-natal subsidies, it makes no sense. They make money out of making babies.

BTW, I support doing the same in Israel by the Israeli government.

That's an outrageous claim.
The author makes up his own mind, and the Prof in subject doesn't advocate genocide of Palestinians anywhere and at any point in his speech.

Quite a stretch of the imagination.

The comments in the article are great, I thought this Huffington was a brilliant political commentator, why is this guy her senior editor?

So who exactly is providing pro-natal subsidies to Palestinians? The UN? Other international organization? I have a hard time believing that it's Israel. But if that is the case, the policy seems absurd and the only sane option would be to discontinue it.

LOL Huffington post? Heck the National Enquirer posts better factual Information. Like the B17 found on the dark side of the moon.

Let see, G3SG1 doesn't like Turks, doesn't like Israelis, I wonder what's next on his agenda.

pro-natal subsidies + inheritable refugee status is the reason why there are so many 'palestinians' living in diaspora to begin with..

In my opinion, its the inheritable refugee status part that is the real problem though..

x2

It is ridiculous to claim that cessation of subsidies or advocacy of birth control is somehow a policy of genocide.

Pro Natal subsidies are irrational, inclusive in Israel. I know that a lot of people do not have kids and we need to grow the population, but there are better ways to do it.

And I am not advocating another genocide of my own people...............
