I'll try to spell it out for you...they're targeting civilian employees to try and get the Kuwait company , who employs the hostages, to stop doing business in Iraq . As well, they want the respective countries of each hostage to remove any other civilians that are working in Iraq.

They'll probably release the Egyptian, seeing as how they're not THAT stupid to butcher a Muslim and have Al-Jazeera try to dodge telling the world. Hope the other guys make it home safe.
