U.S. Troops End Patrols In Iraqi Area

I recently read this article :

which mainly says that the US Army has stopped its patrols where they were being shot at, leaving large part of Iraq without US presence (and from the iraqi gvt too by the way).

What do you think of it ?

Let the Iraqi Defence Force patrol the streets. Our troops aren't police officers. We should conduct offensive operations against insurgents in which we have good intel. That is what our military is designed for.

yea i agree, let them be the targets and then they can call in are troops, this would scare me doing patrol work and all of a sudden i could be shot at in any direction

About bleedin` time. The Iraqi troops should be conducting the patrols, US Combat troops should be on protective convoys or mounting offensive operations against insurgents.
