View Full Version : Online resource for small arms Caliber ballastics, data sets. Where to find?
Does anyone know where I can find raw data or case study of caliber ballistics relating to penetration effect on different materials (mostly steel plates with varied thickness) at different range settings? Preferably from online resources such as pdfs or ebooks. Does not have to be free. It does have to be creditable though.
Cheers.

I'm afraid that penetration testing of small arms is so time consumiing and includes so many variables that a comprehensive study is hard to find. I think at most you will find a set with few calibers compared with few interim materials. In addition all tests I have seen vary from on another in some way, so they are not really comparable.
If it is not the scientific approach you're looking for, you can try places like this:

Ps. What's the matter with replies like "use the ****ing google"? Is it impossible to actually be helpful?

Yes they do, but also every request for information gets one "use google!" answer. Problem is so bad that people have started write disclaimers in their questions, and that is kind a sad that people have to do such things.
As an example this question is such that trying to use google to find good reliable documents with google will be very difficult and time consuming.
