BERLIN (AP) — Authorities say a police officer was killed by a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang during a house search in central Germany.
The prosecutor's office in Koblenz said in a statement Wednesday that a 43-year-old member of the Hells Angels shot twice at a police officer who tried to open the suspect's apartment door during a raid related to prostitution in Anhausen.
The 42-year-old officer died from internal bleeding and the suspect was arrested.
In recent weeks across Germany, police have been cracking down on illegal activities they say motorcycle gangs like the Hells Angels and Bandidos have been involved in.

I guess this will boost a ban of the groups.

They are becoming a real pain in the ass in Germany because they manage to control a lot of shady businesses that are in a "grey" zone. (for example prostitution which is legal in Germany, of course not if it funds a criminal gang that controls a brothel, but that is sometimes hard to proof.) And of course they do anything criminal ranging from heroin trade to murder and keeping large stores of weapons and even hand-grenades ...
I think that they overstepped a little in the last times, and as said above are on the brink of beeing banned. If banned, they will hardly be able to survive in their current form.

Organized crime becomes a problem in general. Maybe the BKA and VS should be strengthen.

RIP to the fallen.
But please note that prostitution in Germany is not legal but only tollerated. Also the Police did nothing when Bandidos and Hells Angels toke over the redlight biz from the Albanians and the Turkish. They could stop then but it was tollerated too. Now is a little bit to late........
RIP to the Officer

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought it was the contrary; Albanians took over, from the "Germans" (Rockerbanden) and Turks (who have been there longer of course), when they came here in masses maybe 10-20 yrs ago. That's the impression I got by most if not all reports.
Here in CH there are many Hells Angels as well but I think no Bandidos at all for whatever reason.

Its not only tolerated, but officially taxed. There are official regulations for brothels, Prostitutes are included in the social system and have health insurance ...
You can even get a fully accepted catering education degree at a whorehouse if it has a large enough bar-area. (all law-regulated)

How do you think they will ban them? A direct legislation on biker groups or by group name/association? What has been discussed legislatively so far?

Article didn't mention if it was a handgun, shotgun, or rifle. If he was wearing a regular kevlar a rifle or even a shotgun (IIa anti-stab?) at close range might have penetrated it.

They can be banned as a "criminal union". Not the Hells Angels itself but chapters. Has been done with the chapter Hamburg a few years ago. Trouble is they currently still exist but use another name ("Red White MC").
As to the gun, I read it was a "high caliber" hand gun. The bullet hit the officer in the arm and then went through the armpit into the chest. That indicates he stood facing the door sideways.

RIP. Are in every country then? They are in England and Wales but not Scotland as the last time the tried to start a chapter in Edinburgh there was a bit of a fuss and one of the Hells Angels had to go to hospital with his arm hanging off. We have the Blue Angels (lunatics) and a few Satan's Slaves (mostly nice dudes).

Yeah...... Hells Angels got put back over the border! Used to go to the Slaves do over at Crail every summer when the kids were wee...... great family weekend! Usually the Blues would turn up on invite, but I ran into them at other meets, and (certain ones) were a pain in the arse.

Just ask. I hate it when people do it without asking. It's just about manners and respect imo.

We have Red & White Crew in Sweden too... Do you guys have X-team over there? It's a supporter group for Bandidos MC. Would be nice if they started a war and exterminated themselves :D

The reason I ask is that is that when I was in Germany I took some pictures of some cops arresting a 10 foot tall and bulletproof tourist, because, well, I'm a cop myself, and was completely ****faced. Some civilians nearby began gesturing/speaking at me and talking about pictures and photographs. They were speaking German so I didn't really know what they said aside from that. Happened another time during that trip also. Third time I asked, though. I wasn't intrusive. Keep a good distance away. It's just here, if you are in public, you are fair game, no matter who you are. I didn't think about that before hand while there.
Back on topic. Hell's Angels in Europe, are they involved mainly just in prostitution?

Back on topic. Hell's Angels in Europe, are they involved mainly just in prostitution?Drugs, weapons, robbery, muscle for hire and chop shops (ringing) mostly but many have swung their attentions to prostitution and chop shops as the risk/reward ratio is more favourable.
