The submarine, the U-166, was discovered in 2001 about 45 miles southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River during a seafloor survey for an oil pipeline. It's in 5,000 feet of water about a mile from a passenger ship, the Robert E. Lee, which was torpedoed by the sub. A Navy vessel escorting the Robert E. Lee launcheddepth charges and is credited with sinking the sub.

A pile of copper and zinc dust is what remains Friday, July 23, 2004, of ten rounds of 40 caliber unleaded ammunition at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Ga. The ammo is designed to fragment into dust upon impact of a steel target the center uses for weapons training. Ten years after the center began developing the unleaded bullets, their use is catching on with police academies nationwide.

The Hercules C130J is seen in this photo from the U.S. Air Force. Pentagon investigators say the Air Force has spent more than two-and-a-half billion dollars to buy 50 of the cargo planes from Lockheed Martin that don't meet specifications and can't perform their combat missions. Nevertheless, the report says, the Air Force is ordering more C-130-J's, despite the fact none has met requirements in the eight years since the program began.

LAAGE - The chief of staff of the US Air Force, General John P. Jumper, was quoted Wednesday as praising the Eurofighter Typhoon after a test flight on the much-maligned jet, which has been in service just 11 weeks with the German Air Force.

"I've flown all the air force jets. None was as good as the Eurofighter," he said, according to an account by the German Air Force of his Tuesday try-out of one of the two-seater jets based at Laage Air Force Base near the Baltic coast city of Rostock.

What for the fighting helicopter is necessary for police?
To shoot on stolen collector's machines?
Here is not US, the police never pursues the stolen machines by the helicopter...

This one belong to the Croatian Police. I have been told that police in the former YU states has a different tasks which are comparable to the military ones. Macedonian police unit in a large scale fought alongside Army insurgents in 2001. So did Serbian Gendarmerie in the Preshevo Valley.
