I'm searching for a kind of headset usable by vehicle commander that you can strap on your infantry helmet (pasgt alike). So you can use it as a replacement of your cvc. I need to move in and out of my vehicle and I would like to find a solution not to have to change from my helmet to my cvc all the time

BOSE is making such headset (triport tactical headset) : http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_STATIC_PAGE_EVENT&url=/professional/military/triport.jsp (http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_STATIC_PAGE_EVENT&url=/professional/military/triport.jsp)

But you might know some other products working on the same idea. I have seen that the British had such a system for Warrior crews .. ? If you can give me clues about brand names, models or whatever I would be very grateful.

I played with the BOSE headset in an MRAP on a mounted patrol. I hated it. Our LT made it mandatory for everyone to wear one in an MRAP (humvees didnt have this). It cause alot of discomfort and the wires kept getting tangled up on me, my gear, and other crap in the vic. Almost as bad as "Quiet Pro", which I think is still the worst ever comm gear that was issued to every grunt in my battalion.

I actually liked the Bose when I was still in Iraq. The only problem I had with it was when I was gunning and you couldn't traverse the turret 360 degrees without getting tangled up in it. Also you have to use a spaghetti cord with it so it's not too dismount friendly.

An MSA Headset has two cables capable of two different nets. You could use one cable for your radio on your person and leave the other open to connect to your vehicle.

Peltor Comtac II. Best headset i've used yet. The Bose is good for in-vehicle work, but for dismounting I think the peltor wins, hands down.

I know that DELAIRE USA makes an adapter for BOSE triport headset, so you can use the BOSE on your MRAP and when you come down connect it on your personal radio.
I hope to be helpful

How does that Peltor compact 2 actually work? Do you have to connect it to another radio and what sort of freq do you use? And with how many users can you occupy a channel?
