Why so much hate for Australia? Disturbing to see such groups gaining so many members. Aussies, what's happening over there?

The rise and rise of new gangs
LES KENNEDY
March 29, 2009
THEY call themselves MBM - the Muslim Brotherhood Movement - a gang of 600 men who boast they are the toughest and best young street fighters of Middle Eastern descent in Sydney.
MBM claims to be the biggest of four new gangs to emerge on Sydney streets in the past year. Its numbers rival those of the state's largest bikie gang, the Rebels.
The sudden appearance of MBM, with its growing membership recruited predominantly from the city's south-western suburbs, has alarmed senior police already battling to combat open warfare among outlaw motorbike gangs.
Even hardened private security guards have expressed concern to police about the indiscriminate "punch and run" tactics of MBM members who, in the past two weeks, have arrived in large numbers at city nightclub venues and who walk the streets in intimidating mobs. But the objectives of MBM - its emblem features two crossed pistols and a hand grenade - and its leadership remain unclear to officers of both the Organised Crime and Gang Squad and Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad.
Police say that a fortnight ago MBM members embarked upon a campaign of random assaults on men who crossed the path of a mob of about 100 toughs stalking Darlinghurst and Kings Cross during the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
A week ago about 30 MBM members intimidated private security guards at government car auctions at Smithfield.
The emergence of MBM also coincides with the rise of two other urban Sydney gangs - the Parra Boyz or Asesinoz MC and Brothers For Life or BFL.
Police say BFL - with a logo featuring crossed machine-guns - is not dissimilar to MBM in its extremist views, but membership numbers are unknown. Police describe Asesinoz, comprising teenagers of Middle Eastern decent, as "tough kids" who use the video-sharing website YouTube to promote Islamic extremism and anti-Australian actions such as flag burning.
The group, which recently changed its name from the Parra Boyz, has more than 40 members, some of whom are known to police for committing acts of violence and vandalism.
Its creation follows that of the Notorious bikie gang, comprising members of Middle Eastern and Pacific Islander extraction, more than a year ago after a split in the membership of the Nomads motorcycle club.
Notorious members, who police allege are engaged in a series of tit-for-tat drive-by shootings on members of rival club the Bandidos in western Sydney, declared they will not be stood over by other gangs.

Never understood the "gang" type of thing, I understand criminals point of view, they want money etc, have interests, even "plans". But to just wonder around in groups like some sort of cult and wreck havoc where you can and where you outnumber people. F*cking mob mentality.

It was only a matter of time before they turned into extremists. I currently live in the Western suburbs of Sydney, i know first hand what these bastards get up to.

Seems like the Aussie police are simply letting this sort of behavior go unchallenged and the gangs are just the very visible tip of the iceberg. I just found the below news story and it is disturbing. A nice Sydney street where, at night, young kids are regularly smashing property, drinking, brawling and attacking residents, all captured in high-def video by the people living there, and the police literally do nothing. They just let them off!
Its a bit of a wakeup call on the state of Australian society. I was not expecting this at all. :-( Hopefully its just Sydney.

In such a permissive environment with a lack of law enforcement, its no wonder some of these kids will grow up thinking they can get away with anything... because they can!

Article is about a year old, It was written during a mini war between some bikie clubs in which a couple of bikie groups whose members were predominantly Australian Muslims were involved... These "gangs" they speak of are a bunch of mislead muslim kids who are just used by the bikies for dirty jobs they dont want to do and recruitments grounds for soldiers...
In this case its purely a criminal thing, and only with strong LAWS the law enforcement agencies can act. Unfortunately the law in Australia is so lenient its ridiculous...
For example someone robs your shop, your hurt them you go to jail or someone breaks into your house, you hurt them they sue your ass plus YOU go to jail ... and so on and on... criminals have more rights than victims. Retarded!

Before its too late the govt should act do not believe liberals root cause (poverty, alienation) to justify the free violence of these people things can get easily out of control. Instead of being grateful that they got a better life if they had stayed in their country of origin a bit of gratitude to the state that improved your living standard is the least to expect...

Wow you set up cameras in Kings Cross and guess what?
You film criminal things happening. Why would anyone be surprised by this? ACA is not journalism.
Also certain laws in Australia are on the draconian side. In WA you can be searched without suspicion in certain area's, Bikie laws are going to outlaw bikie members from associating with each other.
Im no fan of bikies but these laws are ridiculous.
My impression from living in Australia, these kind of things happen, you can't eliminate this kind of behavior. Its just an unavoidable by-product of society.
Draconian laws are just going to create other problems.

It was this sort of thing that contributed to the riots in Cronulla, I remember media coverage of youtube vids made by various groups about bashing the 'ozzies' and how weak ozzies were, Lebanese/Muslim pride, how much better Lebanon is than Australia etc, this is not a new development or something that is going to go away.

It is like this in every single Western country. I think it is essentially suicide of Western Civilisation.
Send these criminals to Afghanistan. They can be made to serve their adopted country, to which they've shown little loyalty, by using their bodies to shield Australian soldiers from enemy fire.

Blame the parents. Its all the results of Poor parenting. EVERYTHING begins at home.
Pretty much what I saw while I lived in UK. Lots of very young kids hanging out with older kids all without adult supervision.

Half of them most likely have never been to Lebanon, or even out of Australia. My feelings are if they cause trouble they should be locked up - or, if they are migrants, deported.

Angry Anderson - other cultures have introduced weapons
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/angry-anderson-other-cultures-have-introduced-weapons/story-e6freuy9-1225835809885

ROCK'N'ROLL bad boy Gary Angry Anderson believes life experience has taught him "Aussies use their fists" when they fight and that "weapons were introduced by other cultures".
The former Rose Tattoo frontman's comments before a Parliamentary inquiry in Canberra yesterday have experts describing his views as "pure fantasy" and ignoring "the realities of life".
Anderson, 63, was adamant he's not racist and said politically correct bureaucrats were getting in the way of progress when it comes to preventing youth violence.
"The racial thing, the cultural thing needs to be addressed because it's not going to go away," he told a Federal Parliamentary Committee into the impact of violence on youth.
"You never kick a bloke when he's down . . . you don't gang up on a bloke. These things are Australian and we shouldn't shy away from being Australian."

The father of four said he had taught his sons these principles and said "other cultures" had introduced weapons, including the Lebanese, Indochinese and Pacific Islanders.
"We have to acknowledge that they have a different view about how they deal with each other," he said.
"It's not untoward for them to turn up to a fight with a hatchet."
Anti-Discrimination Board president Stepan Kerkyasharian said the entertainer's views were unrealistic.
"To suggest that if people of a particular kind of culture weren't here a particular kind of violence wouldn't occur is pure fantasy," Mr Kerkyasharian said.
"To suggest a type of violence didn't exist before is purely ignoring the realities of life."
Australian Race Discrimination commissioner Graham Innes agreed with Anderson that "some violence in Australia has a racial aspect" but said it had been going on since the goldfields in the 19th century.
"We need a zero-tolerance policy from government to say that multicultural violence is not tolerated," Mr Innes said.
"Violence amongst racial groups is not new - the white settlers were violent towards Aboriginal people."
Outside Parliament, Anderson, who has worked with numerous youth charities, said he grew up in '80s Australia when "Aussie kids didn't use weapons".
"We've got to tell Lebanese kids and Indochinese kids that it might be all right where you come from but it's not all right here," he said.

Booze, brawls and blood ... what has Sydney come to?

Shame ... a male was injured in a glassing. The kebab shop continued to serve patrons even though its floor was covered in blood. Picture: Daniel Shaw Source: The Daily Telegraph
BLOOD covers the floor and drips down the counter of this Kings Cross takeaway, the sickening aftermath of another senseless attack.
Yet, centimetres past the police tape, life goes on like nothing has happened.
Late-night revellers order kebabs and staff continue to prepare food just 30 minutes after a 25-year-old man was slashed across the throat.
This is Sydney 2010, a city seemingly blind to the violence that has become just another part of a night out in our CBD.
It is a disturbing trend that has left authorities shaking their heads but, sadly, unsurprised.
"It doesn't affect them, they don't get involved," Police NSW Inspector Gary Koschel said.
Opposition police spokesman Mike Gallacher said violence was so common it made little impact.
"This is the sort of story you expect to come out of the United States," he said.
"Doesn't it show how people have come to accept violence in this city, that they can somehow continue to operate while the obvious signs of violence are all around them. They just have no ability to feel the impact."
In the attack at the 4 Seasons Chicken Spot, the 25-year-old was slashed in the throat by an unidentified male.
"There was a pretty huge Tongan Samoan bloke and a little fella," a witness who gave her name only as Jamie said.
"The little fella smashed a bottle and he slashed the Tongan across the neck. It cut an artery and the blood was spurting."
Another woman applied towels to the victim's neck to stem the bleeding until he was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital.
The wound required 35 stitches. Police spoke to him briefly yesterday but he was still under sedation.
His attacker, described as in his late 20s to early 30s, Middle Eastern or Islander in appearance with balding or short hair, was still on the run last night.
Revellers said attacks were common on the corner of Bayswater and Darlinghurst Rds where the shop is located.
"This shop cops the s ... every week," said one.
"This is where the fights always start, this corner."
The takeaway's owner declined to comment about the shop staying open, but the fact that business went on while blood covered the floor is likely to be investigated.
NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant yesterday said NSW Health would be "following up and seeking a report from the Food Authority."
An authority spokeswoman said it was up to Sydney City Council to determine if there was any risk to the food service.
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore did not return The Daily Telegraph's phone calls.
Police Minister Michael Daley said he believed the casual response to the attack was unusual.
"The majority of the community are far from blase when it comes to assaults on our streets, particularly when a weapon such as a knife is involved," he said.
"They will not tolerate [it] and nor will the Government."
The slashing occurred just hours after a massive police presence for one of Sydney's biggest nights of the year, the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Tens of thousands of people lined Oxford St under the gaze of a force of 1050 police officers.
Thirty-five people were arrested, far fewer than last year, with only 140 incidents, 360 down on 2009.
Yet there was still violence in the hotspot that is Hyde Park, where a man in his 20s was stabbed in the abdomen and a teen was bashed about 11.30pm.
