In my personal opinion....George C. Scott - Patton. played the best role of any military personnel...obviously this os open for discussion...others in consideration..... John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, Cuba Gooding Jr, Jack Webb & Robert DeNiro....feedback

Tom Berenger- Platoon

Tom Sizemore. He was in 4 of the biggest gunbattles in Hollwood:

Heat- Bank Robbery

Saving Private Ryan- Omaha Beach

Pearl Harbor (even though the movie sucked)- Bombing scene

Black Hawk Down- 'nuff said.

I totally forgot about Sizemore. He is a really good actor, I think. I like how he tends to just strut around a battlefield (SPR, BHD)

Jeremy Davies (Cpl. Upham in SPR). May not have been the most heroic character, but I think he really played his part well. He really captured the fear that can possess you, especially in the finale scene (though I think his sudden courage after the P51's came was a little misplaced.)

I didn't think Sizemore did too well in BHD, way too cool when under fire.

Some people would say walking around anywhere with bullets flying is a bad idea, but it gets done. ;)

And since SPR was just a movie, the cool-under-fire Sizemore made it just that much more enjoyable for me to watch. I know several people that have similar opinions about it, but some differ as well.
