Are your snipers bored of the same old stationary, predictable cardboard targets? What they need is disconcertingly realistic acting robotic ones! The Australian Defense Force and Marathon Robotics took a number of two-wheeled RMP 200 Segway robots, placed hoodie-clad foam dummies on top, armored the bottoms, and then programmed them to wander randomly around a small village. A sniper perched up on a hill then picks off his target and, like magic, the remaining robots all scatter automatically...

Very cool and seems to be as efficient training aid. I would add also oscillating vertical movement to the mannequins - people's bodies don't move just strictly horizontally when walking.

Seen some target stands made on the bases of beefed up RC 4x4's sold for civie marksmanship use - not sure what kind of deal the Australian Defense Force gets on Segways, but the targets I've seen cost about 600 USD (receiver ready) retail... Short of going up the stairs/staying upright on rough terrain - I really hate Seqways when I have to dodge them in the streets.

Too funny. when I use to shoot, we tied helium balloons to a radio controlled car and drove it around the range. When we got bored, we shot the car......
