More voters say Bush will win, nationwide poll finds; Bush and Kerry run neck and neck

More voters, including 24% of dems, say Bush will win, nationwide poll by Quinnipiac University finds; Bush and Kerry run neck and neck

By a 47 – 36 percent margin, American voters expect President George W. Bush to be reelected, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Those expecting President Bush to win, rather than Democratic challenger John Kerry, include 24 percent of Democrats, 78 percent of Republicans and 42 percent of independent voters.

In the matchup, Sen. Kerry gets 44 percent to 43 percent for Bush, with 4 percent for independent candidate Ralph Nader. With Nader out of the race, Sen. Kerry is ahead 46 – 43 percent.

This compares to 43 percent for President Bush and 42 percent for Sen. Kerry, with 6 percent for Nader, in a May 24 poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University.

American voters split 46 – 46 percent in their approval of Bush, compared to a negative 45 – 50 percent approval rating May 26.

“Oh, ye of little faith. One-fourth of Democratic voters think their candidate will lose. Compare that with only 11 percent of Republicans who think President Bush is going back to the ranch,” said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “Sen. Kerry got almost no bounce from his selection of Sen. John Edwards as a running mate and is still locked in a horse race with the incumbent. This increases the pressure on the challenger to light a fire – a big fire – at the convention this week.”

In an open-ended question, where voters can give any answer, 25 percent of Americans list the war as the most important problem facing the nation today, followed by 21 percent who list the economy or jobs and 15 percent who list terrorism or safety.

Kerry would do a better job on the economy, voters say 49 – 41 percent, while by the same 49 – 41 percent margin, voters say Bush would do a better job handling Iraq.

“Americans aren’t persuaded by inside-the-Beltway chatter about Vice President Richard Cheney being dumped and say 54 – 31 percent that Bush should keep him on the ticket,” Carroll said.

American voters oppose same-*** civil unions 55 – 40 percent and oppose gay marriage 63 – 31 percent. But they oppose 55 – 39 percent amending the U.S. Constitution to ban same-*** marriage.

While Americans remain divided on the abortion issue, they disapprove 61 – 25 percent of statements by some Catholic Church leaders that they would deny communion to John Kerry because of his position on abortion. And voters say 65 – 26 percent that it is wrong for Catholic Church leaders to attempt to pressure Catholic politicians on issues such as abortion.

“The Boston convention site is a mixed bag for Democrats: Massachusetts has legalized gay marriage, which American voters oppose 2 – 1,” Carroll said. “But Americans don’t want to mess with the Constitution to address gay marriage.”

From July 18 - 22, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,551 registered voters nationwide, with a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points.

Protecting the American People
Latest on Homeland Security

The President’s most important job is to protect and defend the American homeland. Since September 11, 2001, the nation has made tremendous progress achieving this goal.

Last year, President Bush proposed and Congress approved a single, unified Department of Homeland Security to improve protection against today’s threats and be flexible enough to help meet the unknown threats of the future. By unifying over 22 agencies and offices, the President has improved the government’s ability to protect our infrastructure, guard our borders and patrol our skies.

The President has seen a great number of his goals met, including:

* Creation of the Terrorist Threat Integration Center (TTIC): TTIC will merge and analyze all threat information collected domestically and abroad in a single location.
* Launch of the Container Security Initiative: The Container Security Initiative establishes tough new procedures and created new partnerships with the world’s largest ports to target high-risk cargo before it leaves for our shores. 19 major ports, consisting of two-thirds of cargo containers shipped to the U.S., have agreed to participate in CSI.
* Signing of the Smart Border Declaration: The United States and Canada signed the Smart Border Declaration, outlining 30 action items for increasing security, enhancing joint law enforcement, improving physical and technological infrastructure, and facilitating the trade and movement of people between the two countries. The U.S.-Mexican Border Partnership contains a similar 22-point action plan.
* Launched the Homeland Security Command Center: a national 24-7 watch operation
* Improvement of Airport Security: More than 50,000 newly trained federal screeners are deployed at our nation’s airports, where new baggage inspection equipment helped TSA institute 100 percent checked baggage screening. The Federal Air Marshal program was expanded so that thousands of protective air marshals are now flying on commercial aircraft. TSA certified installation of hardened cockpit doors on all 6,000 large passenger aircraft.
* Reorganizing the FBI: The FBI transformed into an agency focused on preventing domestic terrorism. The FBI established the National Joint Terrorism Task Force at FBI Headquarters and expanded to 66 Joint Terrorism Task Forces among FBI field offices throughout the country.

Other accomplishments to strengthen security and improve preparedness services and response include:

Protecting our Skies

* At airports, train stations and on major highways, more Police and National Guard personnel have been deployed to ensure Americans will continue to travel safely. Security and airline personnel strictly review all identification to make sure that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive areas in our nation’s airports.
* To better protect airline passengers, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has begun training pilots to carry firearms in the cockpit.
* In addition to increasing security, TSA worked to improve customer service and eliminate unnecessary hassle by coordinating screening across different forms of transportation. For example, passengers disembarking from cruise ships in Miami can have their bags screened for their flight home right at the dock.

Protecting our Borders

* Off our coasts and in our harbors, Coast Guard forces are at the leading edge of maritime security. During Operation Liberty Shield, the Coast Guard completed thousands of air and surface patrols. To further enhance maritime security, the Coast Guard recently purchased 700 high-speed vessels with communications systems able to coordinate with other homeland security agencies.
* Officers at our borders and ports of entry have been equipped with technology to better detect the presence of radioactive material.
* The Department of Homeland Security launched Operation Joint Venture to identify and remove persons with unknown or questionable identities with access to restricted areas of military installations. As a result, 37 people were arrested and 28 removed from the country.
* DHS has put in place the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS), requiring individuals who satisfy certain risk factors to register and be fingerprinted and photographed.
* DHS is also operating the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), which tracks foreign students who come to the United States, ensuring they are actually enrolled and attending classes.

Protecting our Ports

* The Department of Homeland Security requires electronic advance cargo manifests from sea carriers 96 hours prior to arrival to give officials more time to check for potentially dangerous crew, passengers, and cargo.
* Since 9/11, the Coast Guard made the largest commitment to port security operations since World War II, including over 35,000 port security patrols and 3,500 air patrols. The Coast Guard boarded over 2,500 high interest vessels, interdicted over 6,200 illegal migrants, and created and maintained over 115 Maritime Security Zones.

Protecting Your Health

* The President proposed Project BioShield, a significant step in improving our ability to protect against the threat of bioterrorism. BioShield is an initiative designed to accelerate the acquirement of next-generation vaccines and other products to counter bioterror threats.
* The Department of Homeland Security’s science and technology division recently established the Biowatch program in several major cities, deploying equipment to quickly detect the spread of terrorist agents like anthrax in time to distribute life-saving medicines to citizens affected.
* The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) increased the number of food safety inspectors by 700, doubling its capacity to conduct safety inspections of our food systems.

Protecting our Critical Infrastructure

* The Department of Homeland Security has provided for increased security at critical facilities for water supplies, power plants, bridges, and subway systems, reducing the chances of an attack that could disrupt our daily life or the economy.
* The Department established a new office dedicated to cybersecurity. The Department is working with private industry to help eliminate key vulnerabilities in computer networks and reduce the risk of cyberterrorism.

Supporting our First Responders

* The U.S. Government provided $7.8 billion in grants between 2002 and 2003 to help state and local responders and emergency managers prepare for terrorist attacks.
* HHS, now a critical biodefense entity, distributed $1.1 billion in assistance to state and local governments for improved planning and increased preparedness, including rapid secure communications and laboratory capacity as well as hospital preparedness and infrastructure improvements.
* The National Response Plan is being used to coordinate and integrate all federal incident prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities.
* The President directed the development of a National Incident Management System (NIMS) to make local, state, and federal agencies interoperable during incidents.

Protecting America

* The President’s National Strategy for Homeland Security, the first ever of its kind, outlined his vision for working with state and local communities on the national effort. The President routinely works with Governors, Mayors and local officials to help provide resources for our nation’s first responders.
* Introduced the Ready campaign, a national multimedia public information program designed to build citizen preparedness by giving Americans the basic tools they need to better prepare themselves and encouraging them to "Be Ready." Since its launch, Ready.gov has become one of the most visited sites in America.

Meanwhile, Senator Kerry is...uh...well...

I will not be happy if Bush wins. I will be content. Why? Because he's got generally the same ideas about where this country needs to go and what to do once there that I do. He just signed law about off-duty LEO's carrying. He will probably let the AWB die a stinking death. He captured Saddam and gave orders to kill many thousands of Muslim fanatics. He virtually told France to go screw itself. He said that Americans will walk on Mars. He lowered taxes and pulled the country out of economic nosedive. I love a guy like that.

I tried Europe before. No thanks.

For me it all boils down to who is the strongest leader. Who can I count on to make a decision in a crisis? Bush has demonstrated the ability to be a decisive leader IMHO. Kerry.... Well what really bugs me is his inability to hold a core belief and not only stick to it but also vote his conscious. What he HAS demonstrated is the same old politician's conscious of voting whatever he thinks will get him the most votes. How can a person flip-flop on issues that are in a person's (or should be) core values?

Exactly Deuterium. For those still not sure, please read.

THE JOHN KERRY FLIP-FLOP ARCHIVE

Why has flipflopping become the hallmark of John Kerry’s political career? It is not too hard to figure out. If you change your position at will, you never have to take a stand. It is called the path of least resistance, the coward’s survival strategy. How can we trust a candidate who will say anything to get elected?
Fact:
John Kerry has flip-flopped on his support for higher automobile fuel economy standards and owning an SUV.
April 22, 2004

At a Houston “Earth Day” rally, John Kerry told his supporters that he truly dislikes gas-guzzling SUVs because they are poor for the environment. Because of this, he once proposed a 50-cent gas tax increase. Kerry said that he supports increasing fuel economy standards to 36 miles per gallon by 2015 in order to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil. He also said that he has talked to Ford about making a hybrid car his new “campaign car.”
April 22, 2004

During a conference call the same day, Kerry was asked weather he owned a Chevrolet Suburban. He replied, “I don’t own an SUV…the family has it. I don’t have it.” Did they give you a ride to the Earth Day rally?
The Last We Heard...

It has been revealed that “the family” also owns a Land Rover Defender, a Jeep Cherokee, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and an Audi Allroad. What, no Hummer?
Fact:
Flip-Flopped on anti-war activities – caught on camera.
10/06/71

As a part of an anti-war protest John Kerry allegedly threw several of his medals away. It was later confirmed on a Washington D.C. News program, WRC-TV’s Viewpoints, he admitted “I gave back, I can’t remember, 6, 7, 8, 9 medals,” which clearly included his own Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star.

4/26/04

On several occasions dating back to his 1984 Senate campaign, Kerry has asserted that he threw ribbons, not medals, over the fence. Recently, on ABC’s Good Morning America Kerry argued, “No, you didn’t see me throw…Charlie, Charlie, you are wrong. That’s not what happened. I threw my ribbons across…”
The Last We Heard...

Charlie Gibson ABC’s Good Morning America, “Senator, I was there 33 years ago, and I saw you throw the medals over the fence…” (4/26/04)
Fact:
Kerry Voted For Authorization To Use Force In Iraq.
5/4/03

In First Dem Debate, Kerry Strongly Supported President’s Action In Iraq. KERRY: “George, I said at the time I would have preferred if we had given diplomacy a greater opportunity, but I think it was the right decision to disarm Saddam Hussein, and when the President made the decision, I supported him, and I support the fact that we did disarm him.” (ABC News, Democrat Presidential Candidate Debate, Columbia, SC, 5/4/03)
9/2/03

Kerry Later Claimed He Voted “To Threaten” Use Of Force In Iraq. “I voted to threaten the use of force to make Saddam Hussein comply with the resolutions of the United Nations.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Announcement Of Presidential Candidacy, Mount Pleasant, SC, 9/2/03)
The Last We Heard...
Now, Kerry Says He Is Anti-War Candidate. CHRIS MATTHEWS: “Do you think you belong to that category of candidates who more or less are unhappy with this war, the way it’s been fought, along with General Clark, along with Howard Dean and not necessarily in companionship politically on the issue of the war with people like Lieberman, Edwards and Gephardt? Are you one of the anti-war candidates?” KERRY: “I am -- Yes, in the sense that I don’t believe the president took us to war as he should have, yes, absolutely.” (MSNBC’s “Hardball,” 1/6/04)

Fact:
Kerry Flip-Flopped On Eliminating Marriage Penalty For Middle Class
10/23/03

Kerry Said He Will Fight To Keep Tax Relief For Married Couples. “Howard Dean and Gephardt are going to put the marriage penalty back in place. So if you get married in America, we’re going to charge you more taxes. I do not want to do that.” (Fox News’ “Special Report,” 10/23/03)
7/31/03

Said Democrats Fought To End Marriage Penalty Tax. “We fought hard to get rid of the marriage penalty.” (MSNBC’s “News Live,” 7/31/03)
The Last We Heard...
But, In 1998, Kerry Voted Against Eliminating Marriage Penalty Relief For Married Taxpayers With Combined Incomes Less Than $50,000 Per Year, Saving Taxpayers $46 Billion Over 10 Years. (S. 1415, CQ Vote #154: Rejected 48-50: R 5-49; D 43-1, 6/10/98, Kerry Voted Yea)

Fact:
Flip-Flopped On Patriot Act
10/25/01

Kerry Voted For Patriot Act. The Patriot Act was passed nearly unanimously by the Senate 98-1, and 357-66 in the House. (H.R. 3162, CQ Vote #313: Passed 98-1: R 49-0; D 48-1; I 1-0, 10/25/01, Kerry Voted Yea)
8/6/03

Kerry Used To Defend His Vote. “Most of [The Patriot Act] has to do with improving the transfer of information between CIA and FBI, and it has to do with things that really were quite necessary in the wake of what happened on September 11th.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Town Hall Meeting, Manchester, NH, 8/6/03)
The Last We Heard...
Now, Kerry Attacks Patriot Act. “We are a nation of laws and liberties, not of a knock in the night. So it is time to end the era of John Ashcroft. That starts with replacing the Patriot Act with a new law that protects our people and our liberties at the same time. I’ve been a District Attorney and I know that what law enforcement needs are real tools not restrictions on American’s basic rights.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Iowa State University, Iowa City, IA, 12/1/03)

Fact:
Kerry Took BOTH Sides In First Gulf War In Separate Letters To Same Constituent.
1/22/91

‘Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition ... to the early use of military force by the US against Iraq. I share your concerns. On January 11, I voted in favor of a resolution that would have insisted that economic sanctions be given more time to work and against a resolution giving the president the immediate authority to go to war.’ --letter from Senator John Kerry to Wallace Carter of Newton Centre, Massachusetts, dated January 22 [1991]

Thank you very much for contacting me to express your support for the actions of President Bush in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. From the outset of the invasion, I have strongly and unequivocally supported President Bush’s response to the crisis and the policy goals he has established with our military deployment in the Persian Gulf.’ --Senator Kerry to Wallace Carter, January 31 [1991]”

Fact:
Flip-Flopped On Gay Marriage Amendment
7/12/02

In 2002, Kerry Signed Letter “Urging” MA Legislature To Reject Constitutional Amendment Banning Gay Marriage. “We rarely comment on issues that are wholly within the jurisdiction of the General Court, but there are occasions when matters pending before you are of such significance to all residents of the Commonwealth that we think it appropriate for us to express our opinion. One such matter is the proposed Constitutional amendment that would prohibit or seriously inhibit any legal recognition whatsoever of same-*** relationships. We believe it would be a grave error for Massachusetts to enshrine in our Constitution a provision which would have such a negative effect on so many of our fellow residents. … We are therefore united in urging you to reject this Constitutional amendment and avoid stigmatizing so many of our fellow citizens who do not deserve to be treated in such a manner.” (Sen. John Kerry, et al, Letter To Members Of The Massachusetts Legislature, 7/12/02)
2/6/04

Now, In 2004, Kerry Won’t Rule Out Supporting Similar Amendment. “Asked if he would support a state constitutional amendment barring gay and lesbian marriages, Kerry didn’t rule out the possibility. ‘I’ll have to see what language there is,’ he said.” (Susan Milligan, “Kerry Says GOP May Target Him On ‘Wedge Issue,’” The Boston Globe, 2/6/04)

Flip-Flopped On Attacking President During Time Of War
3/11/03

In March 2003, Kerry Promised Not To Attack President When War Began. “Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts … said he will cease his complaints once the shooting starts. ‘It’s what you owe the troops,’ said a statement from Kerry, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. ‘I remember being one of those guys and reading news reports from home. If America is at war, I won’t speak a word without measuring how it’ll sound to the guys doing the fighting when they’re listening to their radios in the desert.’” (Glen Johnson, “Democrats On The Stump Plot Their War Rhetoric,” The Boston Globe, 3/11/03)
4/3/03

But Weeks Later, With Troops Just Miles From Baghdad, Kerry Broke His Pledge. “‘What we need now is not just a regime change in Saddam Hussein and Iraq, but we need a regime change in the United States,’ Kerry said in a speech at the Peterborough Town Library. Despite pledging two weeks ago to cool his criticism of the administration once war began, Kerry unleashed a barrage of criticism as US troops fought within 25 miles of Baghdad.” (Glen Johnson, “Kerry Says Us Needs Its Own ‘Regime Change,’” The Boston Globe, 4/3/03)

In 1992, Kerry Called Affirmative Action “Inherently Limited And Divisive.” “[W]hile praising affirmative action as ‘one kind of progress’ that grew out of civil rights court battles, Kerry said the focus on a rights-based agenda has ‘inadvertently driven most of our focus in this country not to the issue of what is happening to the kids who do not get touched by affirmative action, but … toward an inherently limited and divisive program which is called affirmative action.’ That agenda is limited, he said, because it benefits segments of black and minority populations, but not all. And it is divisive because it creates a ‘perception and a reality of reverse discrimination that has actually engendered racism.’” (Lynne Duke, “Senators Seek Serious Dialogue On Race,” The Washington Post, 4/8/92)

It all boils down to this. I dont really care what GW has done, Im just sick of the same speech. In short I want to flip the channel.

Was he decisive after 9/11? Not really... As I remmeber back there was a good couple of hours when we didnt know where he is. There was no official statement on TV, leaving the media to deliberate, driving the populace into almost a panic.

Economy, I cant say, Im not in the private sector so I have no grasp on the market.

Abortion, Gay-right, Morality..... I wish the general populace would just chill out. The same people that is advocating restrictive narcotics ban are the same people that smoked and used the stuff when they were younger. I would also willing to the bet a large portion of the "Greatest Generetion" also solicitated during the WWII years.

Human society has never been orderly and about morals and righteousness, it has always been a struggle to maintain the beast within while eminating the falsehood of progress. If hitory has taught us anything, its that 2 things make the world spin, *** and money, always have, always will. But thats what makes life so fun. Its the impurities that make the steel strong.

So lets relent with the righetous BS. Let gays marry, why not? Its not like its gonna stop them from "firing in the hole". And if marriage is a sacred instituution, then someone hasnt watched daytime talkshos lately.

As for narcs, let just try legalizing weed for a while.... There was a time when it was ALL (including cocain) legal, (believe in the 1920's). And while we are at it, lets legalize roids. Actually, the officer corps can seriosly benefit from a large injection of roids. Roids has never hurt anyone but the user, and thats if he was abusing it without a serios understanding of the stuff.

To all domestic issues i say:"There should be a 11th amendment to the bill of rights." and it should read :"Thou has the right to screw thy self over, but no one else!" Within the confines of these, let human nature be the judge. There will always be scum that fall to the bottom and cream that rises to the top.

As for foreign affairs I say. Let be like the Japanese and Chinese and support no one but ourselves. No more aids to anyone! NONE. If you are starving in some sh1thole, well...... better luck next time! But no, I dont owe him sh1t. And the goal of the government is to maintain and fatten out pocket books as much as possible. So there should be a decrease in beauracracy. A 2 term limit on all elected officials, regardless of term span. A limitation on elected official assets, so there can be no political contributions, NONE.

Social security and medicare - all you old timers should realize that everyone dies sometimes. So after 80, you are on ur own. We are not in the business of creating inmortlity.Or maybe we should just do away with social security all together. Cause at the present rate, I will have to live to 70 to see that check.

And yes, let stem cell research flourish. Hell, I can use a new liver and knees.

There should be a decrease in military spending, and an increase spending on education. But within the military, there should be a higher tooth to tail ratio. Let our forces be more lethal, give us back the heavier stuff.

Like it or not, the majority of the worlds populace lives under crappy regimes. But thats their problem.

And so to foreign policy i say :"If you dont pay taxes to the US gont, then TOO BAD, WALK IT OFF"

And yes that extend to Israel. If they believe they are the chosen people, then im sure there is divine intervention somewhere.

As for the arabs and palestininas... Guys, you've tried not once, not twice but 3 times, and you've failed. So even if you were just in the begining, you are just sore losers now.

So between the the 2, fight it out or work it out, I dont care.

And if the president is to be credited with Iraq. Well, hes the one that got us there the 1st place.

By the way, I kinda feel he has limitations upon his historical knoledge of the world and it reflects in his speeches.

Like I said, I just want to turn the channel. I cant wait til my genreation takes over (im in my 20's), maybe things will be a bit more rational. Maybe.......

Further I would like to add that democracy is a by product of a stable and educated middle class.

Without a stable middle calss, democracy is just as likely to go to war as any other.

Because people are govened by their wallets!

If you have nothing to lose and the guy next dorr has a few bucks to spare, and if you think you can get away with it... Alot of people on this planet would happily shoot at you just to performs a functions check on their AK.

So, does that goat herder on the afghan mountain want democracy? No all he wants is his goats and his wives and hiss AK. He has no need for government, becaus he has no running water, no freeway, no taxes....
You cant offer democracy to someone who doesnt want government.

So here is the choices

1) You get to live in a place like Kuwait. You have limited political rights. But you have mansions, hot models dor girlfriends, Lambos, Ferraris in the drive way.... a mountain of cash. And your rights to all this is guaranteed for life.

OR

2) You live in a democracy, but you've never met ur representative. YOu labor 10-12 hours a day. Then drive 20mph for 10 miles that takes 30 mins. You get home and realize that you are staggering to fianacial mediocraty.

WHATS UR CHOICE?

So you see, democracy is relative, just as freedom. Its kinda like a pretty fine chick, not real hot, just pretty darn nice.... just be happy your screwing her now and try to keep it that way.

Hence there is no point promoting it. Take care of yourself and the world will take care of itself.

Was he decisive after 9/11? Not really... As I remmeber back there was a good couple of hours when we didnt know where he is. There was no official statement on TV, leaving the media to deliberate, driving the populace into almost a panic.

The whole point is for us NOT to know where he is... he was taken to an undiscolsed location (actually orbiting around the mid west on board air force one) for a good reason. We arent supposed to know where he is in a crisis. Its called Continuity of Government.

There were 3 official statements on 9-11, both on Radio and TV.

Panic??? I cant recall any panic. Confusion-there was some of that in the first hour or so. But after that the confusion turned to sadness, and a growing rage...

In all seriosness...

I think people are too blinded by ideology and pride to make sane decisions.

Steel, you make some good points.

Oh and one more troll, pertaining to the thread title....

More voters said Gore would win, but that didn't stop Bush from winning, did it?

I don't know... I'm not all that crazy about Bush, but I could probably tolerate him for another four years. Kerry on the other hand, makes me feel kind of ill.

I'd admitt, not knowing where the prez is cannot be faulted on him.

But it would have been reassuring to have him make a statement on TV imidaitely following the incident.

There must be some way of brocasting from the plane somehow.

The point being the chain of command was somewhat broken. In the end it was the VP that gave the order to shoot.

Furhter, although its not possible, I would like to hear him say:

" It was a mistake to go into Iraq based upon the intel for WMD. However, we are there, and the resolve of the nation as well as the free world is now on the line in Iraq. Only our resolute determination will bear justice to the sacrifice of our young men and women. And for that I am deeply burden by the decisions that were made. But in the place of eradication WMD we are now resolute in the hope of erecting a pillar of democracy and freedom.

And in the end, we will triumph as we have always before, with the gratitude milions who once lived under the tyranny......"

There, I've just written a speech that is somehwat better than the same ones he spew on TV all day long. Also come clean and admitt they were wrong. I dont care if it will lose him vote. With all the morality the current admin champions, this would give him a bit of character.

But i guess there is no point looking for honesty from a politician, is there?

I dont mind him being an aggressive cowboy of a character. I just wish he was a bit more eloquent.

If I was to be led to my death, give me a bit of William Wallace, Patrick Henry or even Hitler. Charge me up a bit please, because the siht of wounded soldiers are a bit to bear.

Oh coming back to the point of morality. What this about Janets ****s and the VP cursing? Enough of it already. Im sure everyone seen a **** in there lives. Especially the young kids ( if they are breast fed). Im just a bit tired of this conservatism. Where was all this conservatism when the prez was partying his youth away.

In short, I would rather like a president that curses, womanizes, drinks, shoots.

No, Kerry is not the entire answer. I wish McCain was running or even Arnold, hell, I'd rather Gen. Clark running or at least VP candidate (if the constitution could be mended a bit) but at least I feel more comfy with Edwards then ****.

Actually a McCain and Powell team would have been my ultimate choice, with clark as the sec def, and arnold as the sec of state (everyone around the world recognizes him, and he can capitalize on that.) Maybe David Chappelle should get a minor position or other, like the whitehouse spokesman, or better yet leave that to Heidi Klum.

yes that would be my whitehouse crew!
