France is putting Scrome J4 scopes on at least 2 FAMAS per infantry squad in excess of two FRF2 bolt action 7,62X51 mm per infantry platoon.

a CAR-15 barrel on a marksmans rifle? why would they use atleast a full length barrel? seems a bit counter productive...

Seems like they all have very short barrels, which seems odd considering there for marksmen...

the british LSW has been reroled as a marksman weapon Aka " the crow cannon" being a bullpup it has an extra long barrel to get the maximum performance out of 5.56mm ammo

because thoe "marksmen" arent` really, they are let say "better" shooters" whom you can trust if needing to take out one guy throwing grenades or cocktail molotov for instance. He is not the guy taking a head shot at 500 meters, rather the one taking a knee cap at 50 to 150 m

And from that story I caught this:

"A commercial equivalent would cost somewhere between twenty-eight and thirty-two thousand dollars a piece," he said.
Sgt. Andrew D. Pomykal who wrote that article needs to knock a zero of that number - $32 000 for an accurized M14? Give me a break! rofl
