Hey howdy hey!

Absolutely great photo series. That set shows so many aspects of the soldiers life that you can really see them as flesh and blood men...not just some abstract trooper with this or that cool gun. It was great to see them partaking in a worship service. One of my Christian brothers just got back (marine tanker) and has talked of how important his faith in Jesus was to him and his fellow soldiers.

So thanks to these brave men and may Jesus keep them safe and grant them victory over all who would do them harm.

Jesus blessings.

I especially like the one showing a US marine with his Dutch counterpart on patrol.

Very cool! woot

The Dutch combat fatigues look very similar to US battle dress... i would have expected the Dutch Military to use a German or British made pattern...

May I thank you for the pictures, being Dutch myself, it's very nice to see these, so fast after their operational deplyoment.

Nice CH-53's too, while waiting for our 'own' CH-47's, which you can see on-route... (or did they already arrive?

Thanks again!

First off, excellent photos, all top notch :D

But I notice, on thier right arms where their flag patch is, there is a small pouch. Could one of our Dutch friends or someone "in the know" point out the purpose of this pouch. Being so small, it seems like it has a specific use. Thanks in advance.

I think (not sure) its for an first aid bandage, witch every dutch soldier has on the him.

The small pouches are for those little yellow 'soundbarriers'
(i don't know the word for it...)
The bandage are attached to the chestrig with tape

Once is saw a pic of three guys of the Luchtmobiele Brigade ( Intervention Brigade of Holland - similar to the British Para Regiment) in a 110. The Army uses the Mercedes ( we call it the MB) official, but also uses the 110.
