BERLIN (*******) - More than 80 percent of single German women are perfectly happy without a man in tow and say living solo gives them more freedom to do what they want, according to a survey for Stern magazine.

Coming amid mounting political alarm about Germany's low birthrate and ageing population, the survey of 1,003 women showed only two percent did not enjoy their solitary lifestyle and 36 percent opted to stay single because it was more fun.

Almost half the women said they preferred single life because it was easier to keep their homes tidy and 36 percent said with no man on the scene they didn't have to endure watching sports on television.

Yeah, Germany isn't producing enough kids to maintain their population, so in effect, I could co-op in Germany and they would probably pay for all my expenses.

Hehe, das mit "Was gegen mein Kopfweh machen" hat die Süsse wohl misinterpretiert.

Honestly however i don´t take this as representative, first being sceptical to statistics and second seeing "Stern" Magazine as "Bild" ( just like the "SUN" ) for Academics.

I'm convinced that this question if asked elsewhere in the EU or the US would yield a similar answer.

At least all women are the same. p-)

I happen to be very fond of my married life. Don't generalize.
