Very cool indeed. However that handle could be similar for example to Fiskars army-shovel for easier carrying and better grip when lifting something heavier. Otherwise a very practical tool.

Digger, axe, saw, vegetable cutter & chopper, measuring tool, scissor, anchor, shield, hammer, nail puller, bottle opener, can opener, wire cutter & tightening, prying tool, oar, knife - that's truly multifunctional, impressive.

The only usefull addition to the nearly 100 year old "Klappspaten" is the wire cutter. Can opener, hammer, oar etc. meh so many makeshift things can be used as that...I could use every spade as a oar and every hard thing as a hammer...i can open a bottle even with a key...and then the shield :) hihi....The klappspaten also has a saw and a sharp side that can also be used as a weapon as the germans did..But seriously digging a hole with any kind of klappspaten will teach you to hate this improvised tool...

Yeah, indeed. The Klappspaten standing in my closet has the same function, except for the wire cutter. But then I also carry a Victorinox Army Knife (BW issued) and a Leatherman multitool, so that problem is solved, too. Plus you donīt always carry your spade, so the smaller tools come in handy...and Iīm pretty sure that you can cut wire with the Klappspaten if you use enough force...

Pretty nice, although most of the functions aren't anything new, and i wouldn't want to sharpen the knife edge up too much, just asking to cut your fingers off when you use it for anything else. :D
Looks pretty sturdy though, the British ETH always snapped off at the base of the handle after anything approaching moderate use it seemed.

The only things i'd want in my Fiskars are the wire cutter and maybe a rough serration for sawing. One thing is certain; I wouldn't cut potatoes with it after digging a foxhole.

Interesting. I agree with Pikka Elo - the wire cutter would be nice, as would the hammer/pry/nail puller. But otherwise, I like my Fiskars NATO E-tool, or my old West German wooden-handle E-Tool.
I will say, with the music on I was expecting for Yul Brenner and Charles Bronson to come riding up over the hill at any moment.
I have a Glock E-Tool somehwere. Worthless, IMHO. In hard, dry ground, the torque will deform the plastic handle lock enough to pop it out of the locking detents on the spade.

I`m not impressed. It doesn`t have a toothpick!
;)
I like the wire cutter, and was shocked seeing its "kitchen" functions. Anyway, I think that saw is less useful, and cutting a board was a kind of torture ;)

I have only one problem with the Fiskars, and that is that I beat to hell 2 of them, brand new, in less than a year. It might be a good hammer for small nails, but tentpoles etc. is pushing it. Also the lock, made of plastic is weak, often when digging it straightened itself out. But if they would just reinforce the lock, it would be awesome indeed.
If that Chinese shovel came with a both folding and better grip, I'd buy one.

Just noticed that it has a nice newly sharpened edge everytime they tried to cut something. How about showing the GINSU cutting action after diging a trench first?
Music reminds me of a bootlegged soundtrack to a old John Wayne flick. ROFL

Seriously, if someone makes an E tool with a long, sturdy, TELESCOPING handle I'd be keen

Honestly haven't seen anything overly impressive with that E-tool.
How about battle axe? Have one as a shield and the other as a battle axe and they can storm a castle...they really S-T-R-E-C-H some of the functionality. Half seems useful and the other half pretty BS. Not sure if the extra bulk is worth compared to having a good quality combat knife and multi-tool.

Heck, the only thing I used my e-tool for was digging cat holes.
But that was one awesome vid!

I guess that Chinese military are equipped with "wunder waffe" which will be decisive in future conflict. I have bad news: we are all lost.

Close. It's from the movie "The Sons of Katie Elder" scored by the legendary Elmer Bernstein. Starring The Duke and Dean Martin.

I have a Glock trenching tool. This Chinese model beats it on all accounts except weight. If I could find one I would gladly change out for it.

There's nothing new about that E-tool. GI's sharpened the blades on the E-tool during WW2. Used them for clubs, axes, frying pans...and you can still do all of that with the current issued E-tool.

Nothing impressive. Still sh*t at it's primary purpose.
Anyone who's ever gone out on foot intending to dig in has taken a propper long handled spade to do it with. If you want to dig an op/trench, then it's worth ****ing one or two guys to strap one to their bergan.
All the other functions can be acheived with a good multitool, repeatedly, without wear, in tight spaces, and without the weight and bulk.
FAIL

But you get a swissarmy-Macgyver-Ginzu-bottleopener-Ninjagrapplinghook-tool all in one. It has to be good.
On a more serious side of things, digging with e-tools really does suck. I also had the choise of the light fiskars and the older finnish steel one, i stuck with the heavier steel version.

According to the Chinese characters in this part, you can create a safe zone in case of the wildfire with this wonder shovel by cutting down the grass and bushes.......

Those Cold Steel shovels are pretty sh*tty. Got a few for real cheap (dealer cost), they all broke at the base/tang (hell if I know tacticool shovel terminology). POS.

Cool shovel. But it seems pretty damn dangerous to have a sharp edge on a shovel. I prefer to have a dedicated shovel, and a dedicated knife. Not a mutant baby that sucks at both tasks equally.

Ain't nothin' wrong with a sharp shovel. Gonna be hard to keep it sharp, being that it's used to dig and sh*t.

I have some doubts about the durability of this shovel.
It looks a bit flimsy and complex especially in the folding/scissors mechanism. I would prefer a simpler and more rugged design for serious digging.
