I am all for buying American....but not guns. People's lives depend on those weapons...choosing an 'inferior' fire-arm because some f*cking politican has too much pride to buy from another country is stupid.

Note- this may ALSO be the reason why the US is spending millions upon millions to develope the XM8 which I predict will be pretty damn close to a G36K/E.

I understand what your saying FallenAngel, but the main focus is more on keeping money here in the states instead of paying off Germany to make our guns! Plus our economy sure could use the money. Also we have proven gun makers in the U.S., but they need to up thier quality. And with the correct pressure I think they would come through!

Yes,though as pointed out.
If money is to be spent on Firearms,surley the better the weapon is (Construction,service,operations & usage),is a good thing.
We all know H&K are the best. So you use them.After all it is in the Interest of National & Public safety.

Even in the UK,there`s a call for the SA80A2s to be replaced with G36s. Though after what the MoD have spent on the SA80s.l think it will be awhile before that happens.

or HK just will promise to build a US plant for the weapons as Beratta, others, have done...that is nothing new to government contracts..kind of like the "standard" policy of using US flag carriers for air travel.
