Hi all
I'm planning on getting some AUSCAM sometime soon, and I was wondering where I could buy some as I have not had much luck.
So far this is the only place I have found but as it says, they are copies.

Does this nessessarily mean the Camo pattern might not be the same or a lack of quality?
Thanks all!

they look pretty crap copies. Another good site would be www.brisbanedisposals.com.au. But try and make sure you buy real AUSCAM...not a copy. They are normally very cheap copies and no good in comparison to the real stuff.[/url]

The ones in the picture looked a bit crappy, just like the ones we get issued :P . They look a bit shiney but that's just because they haven't been washed or worn. They are the right cut and the cam looks like the same pattern. Ask who makes them, if they say ADI, then they would be just like the issued cams.

Yep, those fake cams look very tardy and don't have the right 'cut' to them.
Be careful of "John Star" made fake cams. My civ job these days is at our National War Museum and we sometimes get would be donations etc of these fakes and they are TERRIBLE.
Mate, I reckon your cheapest way might be to do a swap with some diggers or a unit.

What about the desert AUSCAM (DPDU)? I hear the mil issue stuff is restricted but have not seen any repro's out either. Any news on this?

yeah the mil-issue is still highly restricted. I already saw a repro from a friend and are available actually but unfortunately in the wrong color.

they aint restricted as such. They are just hard to come by. Once they are issued...they are worn out...thus not worth re selling.

That's good to know then. :D Will appreciate very much if u can hook me up if you know where to get a few sets. It doesn't matter if its the Pattern 2 or Pattern 3 Desert Auscam.
Many thanks, 3RAR.
Cheers.

Seriously :)
Search for "auscam" and "australian camo" (sometimes they bring up different listings).

There has also been a requirement for many of our blokes coming back from Afghanistan/Iraq/ME to bin their DPDU's on return to Australia. That has been one significant factor on not having combat worn/operational DPDU available to members of the public or us mob at National War Museums.
If there are any ADF vets out there who want their gear/cams/whatever kept for 'time immemorial' and possible use in exhibitions at the AWM in Canberra, please contact me asap.
