Hello,
My name is Master Corproal Harrison Freedman, I am a marksman for the Canadian Armed Forces stationed in Heathrow England.
Hood told me to check out the site and post on the forums.
I decided to open this bored to any questions concerning pretty much anything I can answer about me or the military.

I imagine I will be talking to a few of you in the future, Which I am greatly looking forward to.

Howdy

I wasn't aware of any units being stationed at Heathrow (apart from the reinforced Guards infantry company supporting Thames Valley police currently deployed in response to Al Qaeda SAM threat), let alone Canadian forces. Where abouts are you stationed exactly my friend?

Theres a base down by the airport there, I'm not allowed to say the name,
but I can tell you it's where the famous SAS are stationed most of the year.
The Canadians sent out some Peacekeepers when the terror aleart went to orange, and those guys were arrested in England.
I was sent because in case of war, I will prbably be sent out to Kuwait right from Heathrow airport since it's VERY easy to transport units through there due to the connection between and the Government and the airport (unlike the states or Canada where we have so make so many spots and crap like that since the Government doesn't understand we need the use of Public Airports)
Anyways, thats why were there

Hi, sorry I am taking so long to reply, but I spent my day practicing with my Remington 700 rifle..which I'm sure you've heard of.

Back to your question..I am with the 2402 Horse Guards, which is a relatively small unit, made of about 30 men.

Anyways, at this point, I must bid you adieu for I have a strict C/O which I cannot be late for.

I shall post in the near future with regards to progress and other questions you may have.

Freedman

A quick search on Google reveals that 2402 Horse Guards (2402 Governor Generals Horse Guards to be exact) appear to be a Canadian Army Cadet unit.

The Canadian Army appears also to use the Parker Hale M82 as the C3A1 and the MacMillen Tac50. They don't appear to use the Remington 700.

22SAS are based at Cregenhill, just outside Hereford near the Welsh border. They also have facilities for forward staging at Chelsea Barracks, Kings Road in London. As far as I am aware, they do not have any facilities near Heathrow. They may have but I'm not aware of any.

Finally, why would the Canadian government send a team of "Peacekeepers" to the UK? You seem to imply that it was because of the Ricin discovery in London. You further seem to imply that part of the reason was also to facilitate Canadian troop movements through the UK? I find this an unusual statement to say the least.

Freedman, would it be possible for you to explain yourself a little more please?

Kind regards

Ricin is a poison that kills through injection or ingestion. It's basically arsenic only more potent. It was used by the KGB for assassinations, not massacre. It isn't a WMD. And nobody is threatening to invade England.

Why did Canadian peacekeepers get sent there to deal with a situation like this? And why didn't I hear anything about peacekeepers crossing the Atlantic on the news?

Damn, I wish I had seen this thread sooner. I was going to call him on his Remington 700 claim. Good job to you Chops.

In addition to the questionable sending of peacekeepers to the UK, why would a 30 man unit be sent?

Seems doubtful to me.

In fact... I did not like it how some of you guys behaved. I have even tried to stop Chops via personal message... but it was to late.

Harrison Freedman is gone!

That should be a lesson to you all, dammit !!!!

You have wasted a sublime opportunity ! I was so much looking forward to hear this guys bragging... He even mantioned the SAS and that he possibly would be send to Kuwait. That would really have been some fun to hear his big adventure stories... but now... it's wasted.

I really hope the next one will not be scared away! Give creativity a chance !!!

...and I did stop as soon as I got your personal msg! Chill my boy! Freedman was just another wannabe Walt. I agree it would have been twisted fun to watch this guy slowly hang himself but a pet hate of mine is wannabes pretending to be serving or former. It is a huge diss to the guys who've really been in the ****.

Best one I ever came across was some tool who said he was former 22 who had allegedly participated on the Son Tay POW rescue! Happened to know a colleague at the time who was former 10thSFG(A) who was working security contracts in Algiers at the time and he took him to pieces. The US SF guys are pretty proud of their history.

I may hold fire next time though and watch the guy twist the rope...

Hey Loke, I heard you have a private SAS trooper who comes to your appartment and teaches you CQB stratergies while playing Doom. Id love to hear some tips. ;)

Yeh, always remember to strafe either left or right when you see or feel incoming fire.
After I finalize my DooM "Rookie Sensei" course I will advance to the Action Quake "Master-Blaster Master" grade, and the fine art of jumping a lot. That's what the SAS guy has promised me.

Well, obviously there's always the chance for him to redeem himself on here if he's able. Take it as you will, I was playing counter-strike the other day and he came on and asked if there were any military people in here.. I said I wasn't, but I run militarphotos.net and he should check it out as there are some military guys on there... the rest is history.

Glad to see you're still alive virtualpender, hadn't seen you in a while.
