Germany has more than 4,500 military forces in Afghanistan as part of the US-led International Security Assistance Force. Amid growing public resentment towards the prolonged mission in Afghanistan, the German parliament, the Bundestag, voted in February for extension of Germany's military mission in Afghanistan and the deployment of additional 859 troops.http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/3326/610xvzdotjpg

South Korean Army's K-1 tanks fire during a live fire drill at a firing range near the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas in Yeoncheon, north of Seoul, May 25, 2010. North Korea said on Tuesday it would take military action if the South continued to violate its waters off the peninsula's west coast. The two Koreas have been in a tense standoff over a disputed maritime border in the Yellow Sea which was the scene of a torpedo attack that sank a South Korean navy ship in March.

Great pics, as always, HE!
Btw, does the soldier in pic 1 have a cap over his muzzle? The flash-hider looks different than usual. Also it seems like he "pimped" his issued gloves :D

Upgraded Army Lynx Mk9A helicopters have been sent from the UK and taken to the Afghan skies, the MoD announced yesterday.
The Lynx Mk9As, with their increased firepower, more powerful engines and the ability to operate all year in the harsh hot and high Afghan environment have increased the total number of flying hours available to commanders.

Don't know about the time limit thing, but those photos of the OPTAG are actually pretty old, from when 4th Mech was first deployed to Afghanistan, so MTP is probably more widespread by now than in these pics.

Edit: from start of April, so not that old, but still MTP has been more and more prevalent since then.

That's new.. I thought the ARMY version of the Lynx in general had skids and the NAVY version had wheels... Does anyone know why they fitted wheels on this version?

Only explanation I can come of is to make them able to make a rolling take-off.. maybe thats a good thing at 2500ft (Bastion altitude)

The Lynx Mk9 has been around for nearly 20 years. The Mk7 has skids.

Lots of advantages to wheeled undercariage, e.g. rolling take off/landing, moving the aircraft on the ground/ship, and turning into wind etc.. The Wildcat (the Lynx replacement) also has wheels on naval and army versions.

Wow, these two (2) English women are really beautiful. The Americans are not bad either, but the Brits are definitely gorgeous. They should be married, raising families, and make deserving men really good wives.

LOL, flame much? How do you know they aren't already married with kids? Or maybe they are both total *****es and wouldn't want to inflict them on any man (remember, they are Scots). Regardless, where is it you place to say what they SHOULD do?

It looks like the gentlemen in MTP is wearing an Osprey with the Hybrid DPM camouflage. Are there still trials going on for this camouflage pattern?

Looks like it might be, but is hard to tell with the angle and lighting. There are no trials still going on for it, MTP has filled to role it was designed for, but a few hundred of them were made as I recall. Up till MTP being adopted I have only seen them on RM FPG and Royal Navy guys, but as it is closer in pattern to MTP than DDPM seems to have crept over there.

Not balmoral's mate, there tam o shanter's. Furthermore there medics attatched to the infantry battalion so they pick up the respective dress of the unit to whom they are attatched.

Regards the 2 lasses in the pic. We're British!!!! They may well be English, Welsh or Scottish (Scotch is a drink not a nationality!) the unit is a Sweaty (Sweaty Sock - Jock) one as they're wearing Tam o'shanters. Any attached personnel from support Regiments, RLC, REME, RAMC, AGC wear the headgear and formation/DZ patch for the unit they are attached to. Hence there are guys and girls here that wear the Maroon cover of the Airborne whilst not being Para's. And yes they are pretty gorgeous, but as for being married and at home bringing up the kids?! WTF!!! My first wife was in the RAF same time as me, serving and being a mum and wife. There are loads in the British Armed Forces that do it, and I don't doubt in a majority of Armed Forces.
