Ah shoot, that ain't nuthin. I went through an F5 in Wichita in '91. We nicknamed it "Stormin' Norman" since it happened during the Gulf War. It blew all the glass out of my truck & sandblasted all the paint off one side. It wrecked most of McConnell AFB, and killed a bunch of people in Andover KS. Destroyed over a hundred houses in base housing.

The damage was simply unbelievable. Worse than a bomb - it was as if huge areas had been vacuumed - there wasn't even any rubble, just concrete slabs left. The trees were the worst - big ass trees totally shredded with only their large branches & no leaves left.

That cloud of "dust" at the bottom of the funnels in the photos is actually full of 2x4s, cars, glass, trees, cats, sheetmetal--very nasty stuff. It was the first thing I noticed..it was just a little windy, but it was raining all kinds of crap - roof tiles, bits of sheetrock, dirt, and big stuff was floating like corrugated steel, plywood - figured it was time to duck.

Note the F-16s from the 184th TFG in the foreground...(or are those Bones from the 384th? Kind of hard to tell.)

The next week, I was in my parking lot, looked up, and saw exactly what's on the original pics -- the little cone thingie right on top of me. After filling my pants, I calmly walked inside. I'll tell you that I was not inclined to chase the tornados I was in.

Who exactly gets to pay for the damage to their vehicles & to themselves? I'm sure that in the event that any $ has to be shelled out, they'll expect their fellow insurance policy holders to foot the bill. Idiots. In fact, I think McConnell gave an Article 15 to an airman who left his shelter to video the tornado there.

Well when I used to live in Edmonton like 15/16 years ago (I was around 1 y/o) a tornado touched down in Edmonton, It was called 'black friday' it hit a trailer park etc..

anyways Im bound to see a tornado touch down by my house with the weather we've been having, last week I think around 5-6 tornados (or funnel clouds) touched down in the Edmonton area again, so if I do see one Ill get a nice pic for you guys :D

I remember the big tornado...that was freaky. Even outside the city the clouds were spinning...Mother nature is one hell of a force!!
