imo a waste of weight and bulk, if your going to hold it that far back just use the magwell. but thats my preference.

I was trained to hold my rifle with my left hand on the magwell, so I don´t really see the advantage of this system...but then I never received training with an AR-15-based weapon, but still I can´t imagine why this new grip system would help to improve weapon handling.

Hate to sound like an arshole, But the CQB technics used in this video are extremely strange (and I'm using the word 'strange' not to say "faulty")
And as for the rail thing - ridiculous IMHO. who needs it?

And right you are. the further forward your hold of the gun is, the more efficient it is in every way. Holding the magwell is simply easier on your Biceps and shoulder muscles so some soldier cut themselves a slack and uses it.
