Just wondering if anyone here watches this show on FX. It started airing a week ago and I loved the first episdode, can't wait for tonights. This is probably one of the best TV series I've seen in a long time...going by the first show anyhow.
Anyway, anyone watch it here?

I watched the first episode and thought it had a lot of potential. A lot of the guys on the show are former FDNY guys. Their acting is ok and the story is interesting - based a lot on some of the real experiences of FDNY guys post 9/11. The one guy on the show actually almost died (the two people next to him did) at ground zero.

I am confused a little about the trucks on the show. In station, they show an older Mack/Aerialscope and Mack pumper, whereas while responding they show a current Seagrave pumper and rear mount ladder (clearly remarked for the fictional company - can see the red placard with "62" on the truck is a slightly different color). On the preview of tonight episode, they show both types of trucks responding. I would think that they should either use the older trucks that they own for both or borrow real trucks (even spares) for the series.

We'll see how tonight goes, but I hope it does well. Oh, wait, it's on!!

Ok, now Ladder 62 is an E-One rear-mount ladder!!!
Engine 99 is a Mack in the station and on scene, but a Seagrave en route, while Engine 23 (second in engine on the first call) was actually a Seagrave on scene. I am so confused - they need to figure this out quick.

I don't really know what the difference's are. Are you a current/former firefighter by chance?
I'm currently working on getting my EMT-B qualification and plan to take the paramedic route and hopefully get into one of the many local departments one day.

I liked it, him talking to ghosts is also a nice touch.

Will defenitely watch the episode next week.

I'm a long time Denis Leary fan, so I think it's great to see him play a normal guy, and break away a bit from his previous comedy only roles.

I worked for the City of Ithaca Fire Department for three years while in school, have been a volunteer firefighter in a suburb of Rochester since 1994 and worked as an engineer for Saulsbury Fire Rescue (built the past three generations of FDNY rescues, plus most of their specialty equipment) before going back to school for my masters and PhD. Unfotrunately, that means I pay way too much attention to the differences in apparatus. I think they purchased the Mack pumper and the E-One ladder and will use those, but use occasional clips of responding trucks to fill in the gap.

Anyway, show seems pretty good - I'll definitely keep watching.
