Danish soldier killed in Helmand

[The Dane]

Today a Danish soldier was killed and two others were wounded when their Piranha APC hit an IED near patrolbase Bridzar in Upper Gereshk Valley. The soldier was killed on the spot.

In a seperate incident 4 hours later, 3 soldiers were wounded, also by an IED.

The killed soldier was female. :( The first Danish female soldier to be killed in Afghanistan. This brings the total number of Danish troops killed in Afghanistan to 32. That's a rather lot for a small country. I think everybody knows someone or has come into personal contact with someone who has died there or who has lost relatives there.
