Ladies and Gents,

I work at a park in Texas the has some connection to homsteading families that immigrated here in the 1850's-1870's. We have a get together every year with the decendants of the old homesteaders. At the last get-together, one of the family members showed me this photo. She has no idea when it was taken or who it's of.

I ID'd the rifle (Krag) as best I could, but that was all I could do. Judging by the dates on the other photos in the album, I'd guess the timing was about right for the Spanish American War, but I have no way to be sure. I told the lady I'd find out what I could, so I submit it here for ya'lls review.

I've attached a hi-res-ish copy as well if it'll help. Any info on gear, weapons, anything that could give the photo some context would be appreciated.

Mods please move if this is in the wrong section.

Good luck, there no unit markings, and the Infantry double loop Cartridge belt doesnt have the State Militia buckles. Button look plain domed. All I can tell you is he is an Infantryman.
