For those who haven't seen or heard about this muzzle break device. I had the chance to shoot the Battle Comp in the 556 and 6.8. I got to use Dr Roberts's SBR 6.8, WOW very cool. The device did it's job and I was impressed so much that I picked one up. There will be a video out shortly by mil-spec monkey.
We used various M4 with and without the Battle Comp. The SBR 6.8 was a Noveske build.

I've heard pretty good feedback from end users so far on these. I like how they're still the same compact size as an A2 birdcage. I'm curious how effective these are compared to Knight's Triple taps.

On feed back, shooting indoors, the blast from the Battle Comp was similar to or just a bit less then the standard A2 flash hider. The feel is more like a push back with no rise. I looked at my own video of the indoor shoot and the shots were loud, the echo would have cause some discomfort, I wore a Surefire earplug vs an electronic ear protection by others there.

$150 is very pricey, I will stick with my vortex, way cheaper.

You think that's pricey, check out the KAC Inconel Triple Tap Muzzle Brake (http://www.operationparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=25683&click=2) ..

This.
A guy I shot with at my last carbine match had one of these, he paid close to $500 for his 3T.
On his 10.5 in SBR, it's a very flat recoil....at a huge expense.

There's 2 sides to the argument with expensive compensators:
1. You're paying too much for a muzzle device and it makes no sense, or...
2. You're paying for something you'll use every time you fire a round (the compensator).
I don't know much about the Battle Comp, but if it turns to be a good product, it might be worth the cost.

I'll bet the KAC one isn't 3x as effective, as its price would suggest...
After all, there's only so much you have to do to tame the mighty recoil forces of the 5.56 round :)

Haha yea. I guess some of the nicer compensator has more use on shorter barrel configurations. A2's working fine for me now on the 16 in barrel, which is why I would never consider the KAC comp (the damn thing cost as much as a new upper).

One thing to remember also is the fact that compensators do wear out. Especially with shorter barrel .223's. Burning gases cause erosion on the working surfaces, and depending on the materials and the design the compensator will eventually wear out.

The FAQ section points out how to install and clean. I'll ask them about rd counts-durability & life span.
