from *******...
A U.S. Army soldier waits beside an overturned Bradley armored vehicle, which lost a track on Baghdad's airport highway and veered off the road July 29, 2004. The incident caused no injuries. *******/Ceerwan Aziz

I work on airplanes at the local airport here and I was just curious, could this Brad just be rolled over? An airplane would have stress fractures and would probably have to have to be overhauled, but could a tank withstand the weight of itself on one side?

I remember from one exercise a CV90 of ours made a jump and made a bad landing right on top of this huge rock, cracked it like an egg. It had a crack running from bottom front hull to the upper...

What kind of repairs need to be made at that point? Would a spot weld work? (I doubt it)

I dunno, best guess is that is that it would salvaged for parts and then scrapped...

the M2AX BFV is a roughly 33-ton armored track - now that weight is resting on the shock arms and other suspension features on its right side. I can tell from that picture that they are obviously bent up (crushed) and will have to be replaced. note the roadwheel that is level on the ground but at an angle to the vehicle? that is supposed to be parallel with the side of the vehicle, not at an angle to it. depending on the severity of the damage, they might have to replace some of the internal hardware for the suspension too.
the hull is likely intact. i've seen those things take a beating, and most of the vehicle is designed modular enough that it likely snapped some of the smaller/weaker parts and hardly did damage to the hull itself.

probably just had to replace the panels the crack was on

Why would you say that? The veh threw a track and he probably just lost control and would up on top of the barrier, which in turn caused the vel to roll on its side. Or somthing like that.

Bradly must drive damn fast to made such acrobatic manuever. I think the crew just wanted to pass IED, when the speed is high those who control detonation can hardly target the vehicle.
