OK....

First- whats the routine for a Marine to serve in a SEAL team? Can they? Is there any set ratio of Navy men: Marines? The reason I ask is becuase the Marines are a division (department, whatever) of the Navy and they don't have a SOCOM unit (Detachment One....but thats more a trial thing.)

Second- I hear that CAG (Delta, SFOD-D, whatever) recruites from all branches of the Armed Services....could/can/would they recruit someone who is already pretty elite- namely SEALs or DevGru?

Re: Marines,

I don't know if the Marines serve in SEAL teams as members, but I do know that Force Recon and SEALs work together. A fellow I used to work with was in a Trailer Platoon for 1st Force, and they did a lot of Gas/Oil Platform take down training. The SEALs would work from the water up, and the Marines would come out of helos and work from the top down. Another guy I worked with (retired USMC MSgt) was a weapons instructor for SEALs, but not a member of a team.

FallenAngel,

Despite what everyone has heard and read, if a Marine wants to be a Seal, he must transfer into the Navy. He's got to wait until his Marine Corps enlistment is up and do the paperwork. Once he is in the Navy, he goes to BUD/S like the rest of the Navy guys trying to be a Seal. It does not go the other way though. If a Navy guy wants to be in the Marine Corps he has to go through Marine Corps boot camp.

I know people are going to go nuts here but I will post it anyways. Back in the early 90's a Saudi prince succesfully made it through BUD/S. He was sent there with his bodyguards (None of the bodyguards made it through), but he did, then he went back to Saudi.

About Delta, I have no idea how they recruit, but I do know that the few DevGru guys I have met say they are way more high speed than Delta. It's the whole we are better than them thing. I know they do a lot of stuff together though.

Faceless expert:
BUD/S has been open to allied Naval personnel for years. I know of two Korean Naval Officers, a Taiwanese, and Germans who have passed the course.

Anyone who knows the military knows of XT. You seem to not know. Why?

So if I ask my dad who was a vietnam vet what XT is, and he does not know, then he wasnt in the military and he does not know what he is talking about?

The things that you say define if someone is in the military or not are pretty stupid.

Duke admit it, you are not a Marine, but you have huge muscular fingers from typing so much. You are one of the many so called military experts on this board.

You just surf this board looking for people to attack and be negative about. This is a perfect world for you because no one knows that you are not what you say you are.

Thanks for your private messages Duke. Why do you and a few other wannabes disquised as experts insist on running off everyone who has real information? Is it because you feel threatened by people who have information? I don't get it.

Here is how it works, Duke and a few others will now say how I know nothing and pick apart every word I say. If you are in the military Duke why do you spend endless hours on this board? I used to be, now I am in school and I am board, and I thought I would pass along the information I learned to those who seek.
