Just found on another forum:

You will NEVER see this on the nightly news.

Allow me to play the part of your favorite reporter then.

"The Border Patrol counts a border "incursion" as a sighting, contact or physical evidence of entry into the United States by a foreign law enforcement official between official ports of entry, said agency spokeswoman Gloria Chavez.

Between 200 and 250 incursions have been documented in the past five years, not counting accidental crossings, said U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, a Republican from Colorado and outspoken advocate of militarizing the border."

Simcox and Foote aren't the only ones who say the Mexican military's border activities protect immigrant and drug smuggling.

"The drug cartel employs the services of the Mexican military," Tancredo said.

He heads the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, a group started in 1999 to address immigration issues in Congress.

"They're shipping drugs into the United States, that's what's going on," he said.

The military creates distractions for smugglers or protects loads of drugs and/or immigrants coming over the border, he said."

"On Mar. 14, shortly after 10 p.m. local time, "two Mexican army Humvees carrying about 16 armed soldiers drove across the international boundary and into the United States near Santa Teresa, New Mexico." There the vehicles pursued a Border Patrol vehicle, which was "outfitted with decals and emergency lights (that were activated for much of the pursuit) over a mile into the United States."

The lead Mexican army vehicle, the Border Patrol council said, contained nine soldiers "armed with seven automatic assault rifles, one submachine gun, and two .45 caliber pistols," and was eventually apprehended by other Border Patrol units. The second Humvee, however, "pursued a Border Patrol agent on horseback and fired a shot at him. The soldiers then disembarked their vehicle, fired upon one more Border Patrol agent and chased another agent before fleeing [back] to Mexico in their vehicle."

"Local ranchers and farmers are frustrated with the efforts of the Border Patrol. While the ranchers in Columbus have not yet armed themselves against illegal alien and smugglers who trespass on their farmland, they do speak of vigilante efforts already underway in Douglas, Arizona. Ralph Johnson a longtime rancher and farmer in Columbus, New Mexico, stated, "To an extent, this is one of the areas in years that hasn't been shut down. On this line it's pretty damn scary. It's kind of a war out here -- The only difference between the ranchers here and over there [Douglas, Arizona] is we haven't rebelled yet and [haven't been] getting after them."

NO LINK FOR THIS ONE, it appears on page 5 of a google search using the phrase "mexican soldiers caught in US"

"The Washington Times, October 6, 2002
"On any given day, 10,000 illegal aliens will cross the U.S.-Mexican border. About one in three will be caught and expelled. Among those who succeed, nearly half will become permanent U.S. residents. The vast majority of those who are caught will try again, frequently the very next day."

Today, record numbers of illegal aliens find their way to the United States, whose estimated illegal alien population is between 9 million and 11 million, or double the 1994 level.

"Mexican soldiers in border crossings
Washington Times ^ | 5/13/02 | Steve Miller

"Heavily armed Mexican soldiers and police are crossing the U.S. border repeatedly, provoking charges from Capitol Hill that they are providing cover for drug smugglers and illegal immigrants.

Last year, there were 23 incursions documented by the U.S. Border Patrol, prompting Rep. Tom Tancredo to contact Mexican President Vicente Fox last week, asking for an end to these incidents."

www.worldnetdaily.com

"A U.S. Border Patrol officer has encountered four heavily armed Mexican army soldiers on the U.S. side of the border near San Diego.

The soldiers, armed with three submachine guns and one M-16 rifle, crossed the border near Tecate, Mexico, while on a counter-drug mission, Border Patrol spokesman James Jacques said. They were all dressed in camouflage fatigues, said officials.

A Border Patrol agent, who was not identified in the SanDeigoChannel.com report, said he was following footsteps left by the Mexican patrol. When he encountered them, one of the Mexican soldiers had his sidearm unholstered.

The agent then unholstered his sidearm and identified himself. He told superiors the Mexican troopers then realized they were inside the U.S. and cooperated with the Border Patrol agent, who took them to a nearby Border Patrol station.

Their identities were verified by the Mexican consulate and other U.S. officials before they were returned to Mexico via the San Ysidro Port of Entry. The report did not say whether their weapons were confiscated.

"This could easily have escalated into a real tragedy," Jacques told reporters. "Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed."

The Border Patrol's Washington, D.C., headquarters did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment.

The March 10 incident signals a growing trend of Mexican military forces crossing into the United States"

"A Mexican governor has fired the entire state police force. The BBC News reported on April 13, 2004 ( "Mexican Police Force Suspended") that " A governor in Mexico has suspended his entire state police force after two senior officers were jailed amid accusations of aiding a drug cartel. The governor of the central state of Morelos, Sergio Estrada, said he was suspending the force of more than 550 officers pending an investigation. He said their weapons had been taken away and offices placed under guard."

According to the BBC, "Last week, the state chief of police Jose Augustin Montiel was arrested, along with his operations director Raul Cortez Galindo. Both were remanded in custody on suspicion of helping the powerful Juarez drug cartel fly cocaine shipments from Colombia into Mexico. The cartel - named for the northern border city where it is allegedly based - is said to be one of the country's major drug trafficking organisations."

Armed Mexicans cross border?
U.S. 'volunteers,' journalists photograph mysterious militia

World Net Daily

A group of civilian volunteer U.S.-Mexico border watchers say they witnessed an incursion into the U.S. by 22 armed Mexican militiamen - and photographed the encounter with the paramilitary patrol.

Chris Simcox, editor and publisher of the Tombstone, Arizona, Tumbleweed and founder of Civil Homeland Defense, a group that attempts to aid the Border Patrol nab illegal aliens, said the confrontation occurred the morning of Saturday, Jan. 24. Simcox, accompanied by a photographer and a video journalist, says the trio ran into a "squad" of armed Mexicans in olive drab uniforms in two military-type vehicles.

"Drug runners, migrants crushing national parks along U.S.-Mexico border

Thursday, June 13, 2002
By Julie Watson, Associated Press

EL PINACATE BIOSPHERE RESERVE, Mexico — Drug traffickers scar volcanic desert with illicit runways, while law enforcement officials chase them through once-tranquil parks.
Thousands of migrants traipse across delicate backcountry areas, sending campers fleeing to ranger stations, fearful of crowds trekking by their tents in the night.

Wilderness areas on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border are taking a beating from an onslaught of migrants, drug traffickers, and law enforcement officials, a new study says. Some national treasures in both countries have been lost forever."

An interesitng article on the Volunteer US militias that've been formed along the border.

This is a Washington post article on the Zetas, former Mexican Army commandos who've formed a group and hire their services out to the cartels to smuggle drugs into the US. This is also the group that's offered to smuggle Al Qaeda operatives into the US for $12,000 dollars each.

We're practicly at war down there. We've got 10,000 US troops tied up along the border at ths very moment.

Don't f**king come to this country and not learn the language or respect its culture. Don't f**king come here and comit crime, and do other bad things. Believe me if this country wanted to shut the border down it would. It is not in its best interest to do so, why? Because of the cheap labor that comes across. Its all economics, stop illegal immigration and watch how fast companies leave this country...

Hey, I got nothing against people coming here legally to make a better life for themselves. I think that's what makes this country so great. Everyone of my ancestors- some as recently as the 1920s- did that when they came from Italy (I too am half Italian....actually Sicilian, but who cares.)

HOWEVER, when illegals come here and take over and replace the status-quo with their own culture I think that's taking it too far. Their children bring down the school system because they can not read, write or understand English while overcrowding the classrooms which strains the already lacking resources. There's a reson LA Unified doesn't issue a high-school exit exam, it was found that over 60% of the students couldn't pass. Why? Because there were A LOT of latinos who couldn't understand english. There's parts of LA where you'd swear you were in Mexico. The only English you'll find is the traffic signs. In typical immigration patterns, these immigrants tend to group together. Communities full of (relatively) uneducated, unskilled and poor people promote only one thing- crime. Arguably the worst crime areas in Southern California are those of illegal latino immigrants.

On a personal note, working for a police department, I sometimes have to deal with people who don't speak a word of English. It frustrates the hell out of me because the expectation seems that I learn Spanish to accomidate someone who's literally breaking the law by being here. What kind of f*cked up **** is that?

This is the kind of thing 'caucasians' used to say about Italian immigrants in the early 1900's, for some reason they had a paranoia about 'their' country being overran by them 'italians'.

Care to give me some statistics and how the most crime ridden communities are latino ones?

To me its sounds like you are frustrated with a culture that you do not understand and dont want to understand. By all means continue your hate it is only your loss..

To make my opinion clear, I am against illegal immigration but I also see the other flip of the coin. Our government will not stop it for said economical reasons. Living in California like I do, you know there are far more worse things to worry about other than illegal immigration.

I've thought for a long time that the border should be patroled by the military or heavily armed police force. It's only a matter of time before terrorist exploit our open border and attack us. A tighter border would also curtail illegal immigration and dope smuggling. My Uncle who is a native of Mexico tried for years to immigrate to the States legally but was turned down mainly due the high levels of illegal immigration. There was even a U.S. Park Ranger killed on our side of the border by Mexican criminals.

This thread is too funny......

If able-bodied workers aren't recruited by the multi-millions in the next decade to fill the shoes of an aging/retiring population the US is going to face a massive demographic implosion.

Look at the unfunded social security liability measured in the tens of trillions.....who's going to pay those taxes?

You either better start birthin' some babies immediately, or open the gate to immigration....cause the US needs a new herd of taxpaying sheep....otherwise you'll never be able to retire.....ever

It's already happening with the legitimization of illegals.......they're able to apply for loans, buy stuff on credit.....and most importantly....pay taxes $$$

EXACTLY. You have no idea how many customers (hispanic) come in to the store, who dont sepak a WORD of english, and have to rely on spanish-speaking sales reps. And most of them arent even that old, some are even in their thirties and forties.
WTF?!
Most other groups (including russians) try their absolute best speaking proper english, instead of immidiatly asking for a native speaker.

My grandparents were both over sixty when they came here, yet they made an effort and learned enough basic english to get around, shop, read newspapers etc.

To a large extent, however, the government is responsible, when pretty much every government document is available in spanish.

Hi.

I don't understand why theres so much hate toward Mexicans. Most of the people that immigrate to the USA are from rural zones; people that work hard , some dont even finished 6th grade. In the other hand some are criminals that were in gangs, like in every place in the world..theres bad and good people. You cant hate ALL MEXICANS just because a few.

If the US wanted to close the border they could have done it since along time ago...but like my friendly Italian says....the USA need this people to prospere..they pay taxes...the taxes are used to build bombs and rifles..hispanics go to war too and die just like other white americans in Iraq.

Mexico and the USA depend on each other..just like Canada and USA .

MEXICO produces OIL, man power that work in the fields so americans can eat.

CANADA, it has always support the USA in wars. They sale water to the USA.

You see, everything is relative.

Hence I dont mind LEGAL Mexican immigrants, for they indeed do work hard and pay taxes, or alternatively, have served in our military to gain citizenship. ILLEGAL immigrants (be they mexicans, Russians, Icelanders, whatever) dont pay taxes, but they do use up public funds such as healthcare and public education etc.

I find it funny, and sad that there is such xenophobia towards Mexicans when the jobs they do take on are ones that the average American would sooner slit their wrists then do themselves.

IMHO North America has become lazy...Look at the pics of the young men that went to war in 1914, all built like bodybuilders..not a fat ass among them. Once upon a time folks worked hard, and loved it..now we let immigrants do this work for us and bitch about it... Very odd.

And no North America isn't going to fall like Rome because of immigrants, as unlike Rome America is set up to be a Melting pot...and Canada a Mosaic. Both countries being founded by immigrants.

Any loss in identity (like here in Canada) will be due to the Governments inaction, and support, not its citizens.

All I say is as long as people coming in leave their illegal crap, religious intolerance's, and grudges behind why not come in...fill yer boots.

BTW: Canada also sells natural Gas, and electric power to the US esp' California...be nice or we will pull the plug. ;)

I don;t think war with Mexico is a good idea, yet anyways. However, I do say that we should be more like Israel and build a wall. I am sick and tired of illegal mexicans coming into our country. We work our asses off to pay for these lazy wetbacks to get welfare, healthcare, education for their kids, etc. It's complete bull****. Now, they are voting on wether or not to allow these ILLEGAL (the government of CA even used the word Illegal) aliens to vote in school board elections. they aren't citizens, how the **** can an illegal Vote??? In my opinion, being an illegal alien means you have NO rights whatsoever.

The moronic Mexican gov't actually ALLOWS the drug kingpins to get the drugs into our country asnd they end up killing real citizens of this great country. I can understand wanting to come here, but do it legally and speak our language or get the F*ck out. This just really pisses me off that these people are considered the same as you or I when they are here illegally- they are nothing but criminals that are mooching off of us who work. I say that we should round up all the illeagls and kick them the hell our of the country, then build our own wall around the country to keep these wetbacks out. For those coming here legally, there should be a requirement that they take a test to prove that they can Fluently speak our language, and do it correctly- Oh yeah, Spanglish does not count.
