I was wondering, is it possible to mount an optic sight, such as COMP or ACOG, on the M-16/-4 carrying handle while the M-203 quadrant sight is attached?
Thanks for the help.

I don't know about that sight, or the M203, but we - Holland- are using the Diemaco C7/C8 flatop with an opticalsight (Aimpoint/ Elcan) AND a optical reflex sight for our Heckler & Koch AG36-NL 40 mill launcher. But I don't know how they attached it on the rifle. It's on attached on the left side of therifle, between the receiver and the scope (mount highed).

I know the sight you are talking about, I 'm afraid though it's not the one I mean. In a recent weapons trial in Greece, the companies should have provided a weapon with an optical sight as the primary aiming device and a grenade launcher sight calibrated at least to 350m. So Colt brought an M-4 with an M-203, an ACOG atached to the carrying handle and the M-203 quadrant sight(50-400m). I was wondering if they just modyfied those weapon for the trials. Fitting an M-203 sight and an optical sight on the carrying handle must be a very tight fit. Some pictures would help if you have any.

the quadrant sight uses the same place, you would use to mount an a.r.m.s. or any other mount for the m16a2 upper receiver. My english may not understandable, so ill try it this way:

as you can see, the mount for the quadrant sight blocks the hole, that usually serves to fix the mount, you would use for a scope or reddot.
heres a drawing showing the other side of the mount:

maybe colt used some other quadrant sight, like this reflex sight:

So, to mount them both you must modify one, or both of them. Or the weapon. Thanks a lot.
