A friend was doing some gardening on his backyard and after some digging this came up:

Can anybody id what sort of mortar round it might be?

Guys from the defence forces already came and took it away for detonation, but we were wondering about what kind of round it might've been. Said friend doesn't live near any army base so we were thinking if it might be a war souvenir someone later buried into his backyard.

tried to find some info about the thing, looks like a Soviet one from 2nd WW...but the little pipe under it makes me wonder too, sorry not much help...

Awesome, cheers!

Here's to hoping more won't be coming up, at least live ones, the specimen in the picture took some beating with a shovel before my friend realised it wasn't a rock and dug it up!
