I'm not sure if such a thread already exists (the anniversary was several days ago, but I wasn't visiting the forum then).

So I'm creating this thread, anyway.

This battle was - arguably - the most amazing victory of Winged Hussars and the Polish army in general in 17th century.

After the battle Polish units captured Moscow for two years (until 1612).

Yesterday was the 600 anniversary of the battle of Grunwald, several days ago was the 400 anniversary of Klushino - but this battle is not as famous and well-known as Grunwald, while it was probably a much more amazing victory.

Here is an interesting article in English about the battle of Klushino written by Radoslaw Sikora:

Some other interesting materials (click the " Materiały " section) in English available on his website:

I must also congratulate my fellow forum member (from another forum) - Radoslaw Sikora - for publishing an excellent book (available in Polish only - at least at the moment) about the battle of Klushino this year:

The book:

Keep up excellent work Radek! p-)

By the way - I didn't realize how weird was English language from the Reinaissance period before reading this article (he quotes many accounts of English soldiers participating in the battle of Klushino) :cantbeli:. Anyway - Polish from that period was also very weird compared to modern Polish.
