This DefCon group of lock pickers is impressive. In the past, they managed to easily pick Medeco's M3 "high security bump proof" deadblot locks that U.S. gov uses in the White House, Pentagon, and other high security areas. Every lock manufacturer must hate these guys for threatening their business sales. Since DefCon manages to hack every lock out there, I wonder what locks do they use at home?

The worst is the safe, according to their video the company told them it is an import item and hadn't gone through any kind of certification test(s).

Its nothing new. It is a big problem in civilian security industry that companies are using lack of knowledge to sell "faulty" devices. It is creating a situations where devices that were intended to stop a common thief are used to protect a hi value assets that could be a target for a professionals.

Locks and safes are simply effort multipliers for people who want the stuff.
With enough time effort and will power every safety system can be cracked.
Thats why ontop of door locks etc etc you have guards that walk around.
Its a very simple philosophy, but people want the low maintenance "fire and forget security"
