NL(KM) uniform footwear info req.

Gents,

This req. is partricularly aimed at our NL members.I am after a pair of KM leather dress shoes, leather soled type.I wish to replace a pair that I've had for about 15 years which have finally 'given up the ghost' after being re-soled/heeled twice.
I don't know if they're still being issued/worn in the NL Navy.Would like to know if they can be purchased and if someone could kindly point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Bad or good news, fact of the matter is that there are no longer specific RNLN dress shoes. You probably have a pair of Van Liers, but nowadays all services have the same black Avang shoes. Pretty good still, but... they're a different model: the nose is much broader. And yes, that looks as unelegant as it sounds.

Thanks mate!. The Van Liers sounds like what I've got,a bit pointed at the toe, very smart uniform shoes.I'm really sorry to finally get shot of 'em,and too bad that the RNLN doesn't wear them anymore.

The navy actually still uses them, the ones with the rubber sole are an article you can trade for a new pair with KPU. The ones with the leather sole are items you have to purchase. They are still Avang indeed, the ones with the rubber sole are Van Liers, but the Van Liers are broader.

What I have isn't so 'flat' at the toe,but the rest is pretty much identical.Could someone please confirm if these are the same as the KM shoes?

Not exactly the same, the ones you have found are more pointed at the toe. Nonetheless they look pretty close.
