A few years ago the pentagon scrapped the program to replace the M16 with the XM8 rifle. But i have notice that parts of the XM8 are being being used.
The butt stock of the XM8 is appearing on M4 Carbine. This can be seen on the main menu screen of Modern Warfare 2 in Australia if you want to take a look. Why would they drop the XM8 and then use parts made for this weapons system in the M4 ?
So you could use it in video games, of course.

Is this all really stemming from a main menu screen in a video game or do you have other examples?
Please say yes to the latter.

I think the gun is a SCAR-L isn't it? Is totally unrelated to the XM-8, is made by FN rather than HK.

The magazine comment for the pic says 'Mark 16 Mod 0 SCAR'
Stock certainly resembles that of the XM8

If so, is the SCAR-L which is unrelated to both the M4 and XM8. Oddly, the Scar-L isn't in the game, only the SCAR-H.

Does anyone know what TRL they're using in that pic? It looks like a high speed one, but just in case I have the wrong type for my loadout I need to know. Thanks.
