Well, that is similar to the MICH Helmet, except that on the ears is cut up, perhaps for better hearing.

Its a Rabintex equivalent of MSA TC 2002 (3002 in EU) stepcut helmet, sometimes called a "gunfighter helmet". The cut outs are made for better interface with old type active hearing pros. With newer earmuffs it's not as much of an issue, but the design lasted and its percieved "more highspeed" than the other two versions.
