Hi there!

I was looking for a little bit of information regarding the Norwegian version of the Heckler and Koch HK416.

I know that the 416s in the Norwegian Inventory (And their Aimpoint Red dots) have engravings (A "N" inside a shield with a crown) to symbolise that they belong to the Norwegian Government. And that they have a Vertical Foregrip, H&K battlegrip Pistol grip, the HK416 Crane stock.

But I'd like to know if you use the 14.5 Inch barrel (36.8 cm) and/or the 16.5 inch barrel (41.9 cm)?

Also, do soldiers tend to use the Aimpoint or ACOG more, I have seen some photos of Norwegian soldiers with ACOGs but would a Norwegian soldier like to recommend which site is better and for what purpose...

If anyone could answer this, please reply!

Tjusen Takk!

I'm not Norwegian, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn. The aimpoint is better for short distances 0-300m, while the ACOG is better for 50M to probably about 600M. Surprise!

Hi,

Thanks Lasse!

Sorry if I am boring you, I just like for everything to be accurate... I am very anal about that kinda stuff...

So, I will have to find a 16" barrel...

Thanks!

No, you'll have to find a 16.5" barrel - if you're very anal about that kind of stuff that is...

Hm, "16inches" and "anal" in the same sentence....

Hmm, it is rather dubious if I might say so myself... And I though only the British could see Innuendo!

If this is airsoft, why is it in Equipment and Gear?
There is a Reenactment/ Airsoft / Paintball section for stuff like this.

I originally came to ask about the real firearm, but it turned into an Airsoft discussion half way through.

Remember to get the Norwegian issued pistol grip, it gives your middle finger super powers..

Hahah, but I know this thread was originally supposed to be about the real steel rifle, but I guess there is no shame now that I can say I was asking about the real rifle because I wanted to replicate it in Airsoft...

But about the pistol grip, I believe that Heckler and Koch call it the "H&K battlegrip Type 1", and to that I sadly say: there is no such airsoft replica produced that will fit an AEG, because of the Irregular shape of the grip, It is impossible to put a motor into it, so because I have an AEG, I will have to give that particular item a miss.

However, there is a glimmer of hope! I am planning to (when I have some serious money to splash out on this) get a Gas Blowback HK416, because the GBB rifle has no need for a motor, it is also compatible with real steel parts, for example, the stock and the grip are reported to fit without modification. I have managed to find a website that sells official H&K parts so I will purchase the "E1 HK416/7 model Crane stock" and a "H&K Battlegrip Type 1" :-P Which I have to say I am happy about!

So, here is the list of things to make such a GBB rifle:

HK416 GBB rifle
16.5 Inch barrel (Probarbly a 10.5 inch on the gun, but I'll buy 6 inch extenders)
H&K Battlegrip
H&K E1 Crane Stock
G&P Aimpoint Comp4 Red dot sight and Magnifier
G&P M3 flashlight
VFC H&K style Foregrip
Sling Adaptor (End plate)

If anyone has anything to contribute to this list, please let me know if there is something that I have missed!

Thanks!

Like Trunk Munkey said, this isn't the reenactment/airsoft/paintball section.

Okay, I will take that into consideration when I post in the future.

It's probably worth mentioning that some units have pimped up their 416s with new stocks and grips, mostly Magpul from what I've seen.

Hi,

Yeah, I have seen some troops with MAGPUL (I call them "Frame stocks") on their rifles, especially on this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu_AhJq1nAw

And I have already seen all those photos...

I guess I will have to deal with the AEG compatible parts for now, to be honest, I am not really a fan of the MAGPUL parts look on a Norwegian 416..

I prefer the original H&K parts... But that is just me... Also I have to take into consideration that I can't install a MAGPUL frame stock because there is not enough space for the battery I will be using... The grips however, I will look into those...

(By the way, do you have any idea where I can get one of those Helmet covers for the Kejo helmet from? The ones in the video?)
