Bizarre, ain't it? thank god they NYPD caught this Savage Schmuck, send his ass to Sing Sing or 20 years.

A boozed-up bigot who just returned from filming U.S. Marines in Afghanistan used a pocket knife to slash a cabbie - just because the driver was Muslim, police said Wednesday.
Michael Enright, 21, of upstate Brewster, was charged with felony attempted murder as a hate crime

-In an odd twist, Enright was a volunteer for Intersections International, a Manhattan-based group that promotes peace among different religions. A spokesman confirmed he was filming for the group, which recently threw its support behind the controversial Park 51 mosque project near Ground Zero.

Mayor Bloomberg (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Michael+Bloomberg), who spoke to Sharif and invited him to City Hall Friday, said the unprovoked attack was clearly "motivated by anti-Muslim bias."
"I assured him that ethnic or religious bias has no place in our city," Bloomberg said of his conversation with Sharif.
"This attack runs counter to everything that New Yorkers believe, no matter what God we pray to.

Maybe he was trying to make the "other guys" look bad. There are people who believe the ends justifies the means.

RIPNobody was killed, thank god. Ahmed Sharif was released from the hospital on Tuesday and is resting at home.



As for the attacker....Sing Sing, Attica--NYSDOCS has a plethora of suitable accommodations for that jackass.

Acquaintances 'shocked' at film student's arrest in stabbing of Muslim


A film student suspected of stabbing a New York cab driver after learning the driver was Muslim was described Thursday as someone who worked to build bridges across religious and ethnic boundaries.

Those who know Michael Enright, 21, a film student at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, were "shocked and dumbfounded" by his arrest, said Robert Chase

"Everyone was shocked and dumbfounded because of the nature of the crime and because of our experience with him here," Chase said. "It is sadly ironic."

"He was intrigued by the concept and started participating and then volunteering. Enright became involved in the work we do -- building bridges across race, culture and religion and forging common ground for reconciliation and peace," Chase said.
"The whole thing is unfathomable," he said. "He's a good guy. His work has been responsible. He's been diligent and hardworking."

So far no evidence his diary was filled with any hate towards Muslims as earlier reported. Nor that he was a Tea Party member as Huffpo tried to link him with.
