I searched, but didn't find a thread really pertaining to this.
So i figured i would ask the best guy guys i can think of on the internet.
There is a shop near me, that has some new Glock 22's for 350.
They are the 3rd gen. models, and come with Trijicon (spelling?) Night Sights, and 3 extra magazines.
I don't own a gun currently, and my shooting experience has been firing my friend's Springfield XD and shotgun a few times over the past few months, and back in highschool going to shoot with my friend's SKS.
I would like to own a pistol, and i really like the Glock function and design. (Don't shoot me, but i have the airsoft Glock 19, and i love the way it fits in my hand. I do know that the 22 is based on the Glock 17 model, so it will be a bit bigger.).
I have heard a lot of people on the internet (The source of all things factual and correct) say that the .40S&W isn't that good, and that there are better guns.
Personally i'm pretty partial to the Glock, and the deal seems to be pretty good.
But i figured it best to get information from people who own hopefully some Glocks and can comment first hand, and just gun owners in general.
Thanks guys.
Trained on them at work and had no problems with it. Not my choice gun, but for all the 22 seemed like a decent pistol for what we did with it. The biggest thing I've heard some of my buddies say is they don't like the weight and balance of the gun.
Also I'm just a guy... I would wager the best guys will be along shortly.

I have the GL22 and the 23. My 22 has over 11000 rds thrue i and only a very few issues and all of them were with wolf ammo ( garbage!!!!!!!) I love mine . Its a great gun and at that price I would jump all over it!!! My next one will be one of the FN in .45 . My local gun shop has one in the OD green for 499.

From my limited time with that model, I felt it wasn't a bad weapon. Real simple to take apart and clean. At about 50 yards shooting at a man sized target I hit about 13-14 times with a 16 round clip.

Thanks for the replies guys.
It's really tempting.
Tomorrow is pay day too.
This is why i shouldn't have gotten a credit card. If i didn't have to pay them off, this would be a definite drive and grab tomorrow.
Is it possible to paint the lower frame of the Glock?
I love the look of the OD ones, but i haven't been able to find one locally, and i know that they will most likely be more pricey.
But will a can of Krylon adhere to the frame? Or is it liable to just wear off quickly.
Also, JRok if you don't mind me asking, what was the job you trained with it for?

I've put a lot of rounds through Glock 22 pistols, as a parole officer and as a security guard, and they are great pistols. Reliable, simple, easy to use, and accurate.
$350 is an excellent price. DO IT.

The only thing I didn't like was the safety was in the trigger.

But, you have to deliberately pull the trigger for the gun to fire. They are very safe pistols.

Not a big fan of .40, so I'm more partial to their 9mm. But at that price for a NEW glock WITH Trijicon sights AND 3 magazines, go for it.

Ahh, you guys are making this tough.
I may have to go a little further into debt for this one!

I suppose, not exactly a regular user of hand guns right now
I don't see whats so tough lol, for 350$ I'd be all over that like a pack of dogs on a 3 legged cat!

If you have to sell it, you can easily get your money back. Perhaps even make a nice profit.

My only experience is with the 17, but I like glock, good reliable weapon, and at that price I wouldn't hesitate

All my Glocks are in 9mm (17, 19, 26). They're easy to use, easy to maintain. It's the sidearm of the common man; I love it.
Get one.

Glocks are the only way to fly. I would say go for a 17/19 just for the ammo cost savings.

Good price for that Glock. The ammo may become pricey for that G22, but the Glock is a good pistol. We use them here in Iraq on contract, G19s. Love 'em.

LAPD issues the Glock 22. I've fired it myself, and I like it enough.

depends on what you want it for also, for target shooting or just range a 17 or 19 is cost effective, but for self defence a 22 has more punch. massad Ayoob (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BQY/is_7_54/ai_n25469319/)is a well respected police Lt with a lot of hands on experience and this is a good article

.40 S&W is the same price.
I'm buying a trade in G22 Feb 1st.

I got a G17 and seriously like it, even though I have some issues with it. I've never fired one in .40 so I can't say much about that calibre but since it's essentially the same gun I'd say you can't go wrong. And with that price? Go for it! I paid around $1000 for mine, a gen4, (in Sweden. Guns are waaaay more expensive here) but the differences aren't that big.
The only drawbacks I've found with Glocks is the somewhat spongey trigger and that some people just have a harder time learning how to handle it. I'm one of those. I consider myself to be a pretty descent shooter but I really have to work hard to get tight groupings at around 25 metres, one handed shooting. A buddy of mine, that's never really handled Glocks before, puts them hole-in-hole at the same distance. I'm starting to get a hang of it now though but if you put a CZ or a Sig in my hand, the groupings really tighten up.
But overall, you can't really go wrong with one. You might be one of those people that has to try a bit harder but I'd say it's worth it.
And, with a Glock, you have tons and tons of things to buy for it. Glocks are popular and the people that makes holsters, sights, spare parts etc know that.
.40 S&W is the same price.
Depends on where you're at. Here, the .40 is way more pricey.

I'd go for the Glock 19 or 17, I find the snap of the .40cal to be distracting. And 9mm is a little more common and usually a little cheaper. But $350 for a G22? Go for it.

I've heard a lot of people talk bad about the Glock. Their main argument is the lack of a "safety." My belief is, if you keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot, you won't have problems! If you like how it fits in your hands, I say go for it. I've had my G22 for a few years. I've put thousands of rounds through it and it hasn't jammed or had a failure to feed. It's been very reliable. I honestly believe it's one of the greatest law enforcement duty weapons out there.

They complain about the safety because there is really nothing else to complain about.

If I could own only one .40 handgun, G22 would be it.
Was issue weapon on my previous job, very easy to perform failure drills up to 25yd.

Except for the Sh*tty grip angle and finger nubs up front. Other than that, great gun.

I'm not comfortable stuffing it into the from of my pants gansta style and throwing a jacket on over it. I only use my Glock with a holster, my ***** is too important to me to take such risks.

Heh...
I had my 19 misload once, but it was because I was a dumbass and I didn't lube it enough when I first got it. It never happened again. My friend who really likes double action revolvers and also has several autos (HK, and a Springfield and a Taurus) said that the 19 was way better than he thought it would be when I let him borrow it. I like that Springfield too, and I also got to try a 38 Airweight recently that was pretty nice. The 19 is so smooth and light though. I've never fired other calibers of Glocks, but I've got a friend who has several Glocks who liked the .40 better. If you got big hands, you'll want something more like the size of the 17.
350 sounds like a good price. You can always sell it later. Not having a safety freaks some people out, but that trigger has the little safety built into it.

A NIB G22 w/night sights and 3 mags for $350? Buy it, now! If you find you don't like it you can turn around and sell it for that and maybe more easily.
The G22 is a good solid pistol. Take a couple classes and learn to run the gun. Most people don't regret running a Glock.

I think i'm going to have to go for it.
I won't be shooting it too often, just once or twice a month (hopefully) so ammo cost won't be too bad (considering i need an excuse to get out more, also, paying for ammo will help me not pay for things like fast food).
I'm glad to see a lot of people are happy with their Glocks.
