I might need it. :)

A bear is walking around in the village where my parents have a country house.

Last year she ate a donkey. The poor thing was tied up to a tree, she grabbed him , dragged him to the river and ate his guts.

You plan on taking on a bear with a just a knife? If so, please videotape it and post it on youtube.

I would make this knife illegal to own.
It's horrendous.

Seriously, no good can come of this thing.

I would use it strictly against liberals, no one can fault me then.

There was/is an anti-shark weapon/device very similar to this.

The idea is that when the anti shark device was stabbed into the body cavity of the shark, the CO2 charge was ignited. The supposed result would be that it would blow the sharks internal organs out through it's mouth and/or anus.

I am guessing you might be able to get a similar effect if this knife was stabbed into the torso/chest cavity and then the CO2 charge set off.

Maybe.....best case scenario.

Any volunteers willing to be used for testing of this ?

:fork:

In a few months the newest version of the venerable BD pants will have a special pocket for this cool tool.

Actually this knife has already been covered here before.

A major improvement to increase the lethality of the device was suggested below.

That hurts just thinking about it....having your guts all blowed up would seriously suck.....the visual it puts into my head is rather distasteful......I wonder which video game will incorporate it first?

I think the whole idea is simply stupid and lacks practical use. If I were to stab someone, I'd do it again and again and again... (I guess you get the picture) And in the time I'd use to fumble with the button that launches the gas I would have already have the victims guts on the floor anyway.

It gets one's name on the Daily Mail, but what else does it do? Really?

Nasty nasty piece of kit

Wonder how long before we see an Iranian/Chinese copy...

X 2.
Unless used to stab from behind, so the victim can be grabbed while you push the buttom.
Doesn´t look good nor clean.

Supposedly it's for large, particularly marine, animals, where you might well not get more than one stab in.

Don't know, I'm not a diver. But if there were such things around I sure as hell would pick something else than a knife to fight them. Put that thing on a tip of stick to make a spear and it already makes more sense for that use.

There was a US program about arming trained dolphins to attack enemy divers with a CO2 needle, practically blouing their guts out of their mouth and rectum.... :-|

This shuld have the same regulation as guns, maybe even stricter.

It cant be used for much else than killing people in a barbaric fasion. (lol at taking on bears with this ). Its like owning a hand grenade- WTF do you need it for

And it doest even look practical for military SF types to use it...

I've seen this kind if spear (not knife) with CO2 in some american sci-fi horror movie about underwater monsters or something, many years ago

Those were the old Farallon Shark Darts. They're pretty much banned now due to the grisly way they kill. Since sharks and many other sea life don't have visera their guts went flying out of their mouths and anuses when hit with a dart. For humans the effect would be much different. I'm not sure if it would be any more lethal or not. A insta-collapsed lung is nasty but then have a dozen knife wounds would be worse. Since skin and visera are elastic a gut shot might not do much but bruise internals with the air leaking out of the hole.

I thought WASP knife was being advertised as shark-defense or 'oh my God there's a bear on top of me' kind of knife.

Now if you could get it to inject a propane/oxygen mix and put a spark igniter in the tip.... Of course, you would need to have a dry cleaner on constant emergency stand-by. p-)

Diving with a spear for anything other than spearfishing would be retarded. :/ Knives are extremely common with divers because you just strap them to your body and forget about it unless you need it. Imagine doing underwater construction while also holding onto a spear, or imagine a group of recreational divers all carrying spears about...

Have a look at the electric batons used for shark protection, I will stay with my opinion. Thank you.

Knives are there to cut lines/netting, primarily.

like sharks? Most of the time you hit them on the snout and they get the message. Dive knives are meant to be used if you're entangled in weeds or fishing line, not for going Rambo on fish and cute sea otters. Blowing bloody chunks out of marine life and littering tends to be frowned upon by other divers and this knife seems to do both rather well.

Why is that guy wearing a dive skin?

Probably one of the coolest knives i've seen
