I don't know much about basketball.... but isn't this sort of like the All Blacks beating Romania at rugby in the dying seconds of the game? Most New Zealand supporters would commit suicide at the disgrace....
(if Germany is actually a strong basketball country, I apologise - as I said, I know nothing :))

It was a great game. Whoever was controlling the camera during the last seconds ought to be fired. The camera was zooming in towards the crowd during the last seconds so the viewers couldn't see Iverson's shot live. Oh well. Considering the USA team only got together a week ago, they play pretty well as a team, minus all the damn turnovers. :cantbeli:
Kevin Garnett where are you? :(

What? The Olympics started?! With all the "hype" they could atleast cover it on TV or in the Newspaper, maybe atleast tell us that it started.

Team USA's Allen Iverson (news) , center, shoots the game-winning shot in their 80-77 win over Germany in an exhibition match at the Cologne Koeln Arena, western Germany, Wednesday Aug. 4, 2004.
The USA will play Germany today in Cologne and then travel to Belgrade for a game against Serbia and Montenegro, a strong gold medal contender, on Friday.
In 14 Olympics, the USA has won 12 golds, one silver and one bronze and compiled a 109-2 record.
"They're going to be in for a lot of lessons for the next few weeks," coach Larry Brown said. "It's a young team, and it's a different game internationally." honestly if the US wins the gold i'll b shocked...despite the fact that individually the US r better than everyone else...as a team they r flawed...no pure point guard (AI is not a pg...and Marbury is too me oriented) no outside shooting (Again AIs shot selection sux...and so does Marbury), no balance (too much inside not enough outside), and poor on court leadership (AI as your captain?) this team needs Shaq, Garnett (imagine that frontline with Duncan at the 4 and Garnett at the three, with Shaq playing center) Ray Allen, Andre Miller, Richard Hamilton, Jason Kidd, and Michael Redd (just for shooting)....
PS AI = Allen Iverson

USA win over Serbia/Montenegro 78-60. The refs of this game liked to call travel a lot though.

They called for travel a lot because the rules in Europe are diffrent from the rules in USA. In Europe you can't move your back leg from the floor if the ball is not touching the floor, in USA you can move your back leg and then to start dribbling.

They are winning by smaller and smaller margins.
When will the NBA realize that these guys are overpaid? ;)
Yes, I realize that teamwork is key, yet as much as these NBA players get paid, heck, any "professional player" gets paid, I would expect them to do better.
A cop making $40k a year that has a shootout and kills 7 bystanders plus the shooter himself isn't gonna make it far in his career just because he was having a bad day.
I'm sure most understand what I'm trying to convey....

Huh? They beat Germany by three and then they beat Serbia by 18. Looks more like larger and larger to me...

u need to look at my previous post....the quality of the players is good but the selection isn't....the team is unbalanced. Too much inside not enough outside, no true pointguard and poor on court leadership. The amount of their pay has nothing whatsoever to do with it.
