Never seen it before.. the 2nd pic- could it be a receiver cover latch? I dont see the normal "button" at the back

IIRC, the first is a manual trigger safety so you can carry the weapon with regular safety on fire but have some degree of AD prevention

second is a top cover securing lever so that the rails retain their zero

That makes sense, latch down to secure it to the receiver..

The second item looks similar to an SKS top cover latching device.
I don't see the spring guide poking through the receiver cover either ...

I agree Pic 2 shows an SKS style cover pin, a great idea is your trying to use Optics mounted on the cover.

The new AK has adopted a hinged topcover of the AKS-74U as the man says in order to mount an accessory rail - hence it uses a similar latch to keep it shut rather than the traditional button.

IIRC these and the other new features were detailed on here a few weeks back.
