Does anybody have pictures of North Korean soldiers/weaponry/uniforms/camo? I have been searching for pictures of NK soldiers especially on camo patterns they use, but I have only been able to find pictures of soldiers with WWII/50s era uniforms.

I would be especially interested on NK SOF camos. Any info/pictures on them? what they look like and what weapons/equipment they use?

Seen some black&white photos of the soldiers when in the ROKMC.

Uniforms of the NK infantry soldiers remind me that of Soviet soldiers during WW2, and Chinese soldiers during the Korean war.

For NK special soldiers, there really isn't much known except that they have a strength of about 100,000. But I've seen one photo of NK soldiers that was captioned "North Korean commandos."Their BDUs looked a lot like what Soviet SFs wear, except for the fact that it was yellowish-brown.

I dont know how current or accurate these are but these are basically the only links I could come up with that had any substantial info in 5 minutes of looking.

Jooglae,

must be a hell of a training at the ROKMC. I have friends who did their conscription time at the ROK paratroopers and if the MC training is similar, then respect to you. Any stories about being left alone in the mountains for a week or so for survival training?

Not exactly "similar". Of course, in the ROKMC there are special units that receive air assault training, such as the reconnaisance divisions or marine paratroopers. I was in the "yoogyeuk" division(I don't know how to put this word-maybe "special assault and patrol" should do it), so I received jump training(at first, the instructor kicked me off the plane because my legs went numb). Other than that, I believe that both we marines and paratroopers receive similar training.

And about being in the mountains......We did receive training in the mountainous areas, but we were usually trained in platoons or squads. Survival training was also a must, since we were a kind of a special division.
There were so many stories about winter training in the mountains in our company, ranging from a corporal who got drunk in his trench and nearly shot dead a comrade, a private who had to cut his toe off because of frostbites, some dozen missing men that were found nearly frozen to death, to a new recruit who broke down and cried for his mommy, and so on.
Words are insufficient. In January, in the middle of a frozen mountain, digging foxholes, exercising platoon tactics......I nearly lost it. I also felt like crying for mommy.
