Islamabad/New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, sources have told Zee News that a Radioactive Gamma Projectile has gone missing from Ghotki in Sindh province of Pakistan.

Sources have also revealed that the equipment has been missing since last three months.

ISI is investigating into the matter but no headway has been made in the case so far. Initially, the matter was being investigated by the local police but looking at the sensitivity of the matter, the Crisis Management Cell of Pakistan handed over this case to intelligence agency.

Radioactive Gamma Projectile is a device which is used to store ‘Dirty Bomb’ or nuclear bomb.

After the disappearance of the device, it has been widely speculated that terror oraginisations mainly al-Qaeda has gotten hold of it. This adds to the speculations that terror organisations now posses a nuclear bomb.

The security of radioactive materials in Pakistan has always been a matter of grave concern for security agencies across the world. After this disclosure, fingers will definitely be pointed towards China which has decided to open another nuclear power plant in Pakistan without getting the nod of IAEA or NSG.

Another scoop for Zeenews soon? Nukes are on their way to Pakistan as we speak or something along that line.

Sounds very unlikely to me. Even in the "bad" states that posses nuclear weapons, the security measures aren't so bad that someone could actually steal radioactive material or other components needed to create a dirty/nuclear bomb.

To be fair Zeenews is a reasonable news outlet and dont go by the name.

But this piece I will have to look at alternate soures before I actually believe it.

And even if its true what can anyone do ? Nothing.

Gamma rays are photons, and do not follow the rules of classical projectile motion... they cant and never be projectile.

I don't know how reliable the info source is but, living in a hugely populated metropolis like New York City, it sure as hell doesn't make me feel safe.

Frankly, your chance of dieing in car accident in next 24 hours is gazilion times bigger than beeing cath in atomic blast. And as for the news - I call for BS.

Hey, if the US lost track a few nuclear warheads attached to a B-52, why can't Pakistan loose a few bombs here and there?.:p

I wouldn't panic just yet, but keep laughing this stuff off.....One day an American city or one in Europe could disappear in a blinding flash, with a nuclear device earmarked "from Pakistan" I fear. Their whole nuclear program is a lose cannon. Just like Iran. VERY DANGEROUS.

Just keep the balance of terror up, just like in the good old days of Cold War. If somebody nukes something this side, then this side nukes everything on the other side.

Lol at gamma projectile, sounds more like a radiation source like those used in medical equipment eg Cobalt-60 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobalt-60) not so much nuclear boom boom.

So, if AQ "nukes something this side", where'd you like to send our nukes to hit "everything on the other side"? And why do you think that would deter rather than motivate AQ?

Denmark supposedly does not have nukes?

I assumed we'd be on the same side if AQ were to nuke someone, hence the "our nukes". I apologize for making hasty assumptions.

EDIT: Oh, and just a bit of trivia: While Denmark never possessed nukes, we've had the means to use tacticals, e.g. 203mm artillery and Honest John rockets, and trained to do so during the Cold War. Somehow I believe this was related to the fact that tactical nukes were stored ready for transport by rail just south of the border :)
