Kid if you make it to the Rangers you'll find out what the CAG is. Hell you'll be doing exercises with them quarterly and not to mention the "RW" ****. By the way your caption is arrogant.....self confidence is what it takes not arrogance. You'll learn when you get to Benning.

Tane, once again, you truly are THE words of wisdom on this forum. Glad to have you around here, seeing your posts makes it worth coming back.

That story was quite sad, but inspirational, I wish I could be half the man he is. Thanks Tane. :)

Another definition...

CAG/1SFOD-D is the US Army's Special Mission Unit (SMU) - its elite, clandestine commando unit. They're generally known as the unit that undertakes the Army's global response to terrorism. However, they have really evolved from the hostage rescue/counter-terrorist unit they were at inception to fill the niche as the Army's versatile, low-visibility special operations unit. If the Army wanted something done with minimal to no footprint then these are those guys. They are as mentioned above supremely skilled, trained, and outfitted.

Additionally, CAG often comprises the assault element in JSOC's assault packages. The various packages used to conduct these missions on "very specialized targets" include elements of the 75th Ranger Regiment, the 24th Special Tactics Squadrons, Naval Special Warfare SMUs, and Special Army Rotary Units like the 160th SOAR.
