It's a working prototype for a Pre-positioning ships designed to replace the ageing Roll-on, Roll-off (RORO) ships. They are owned and maintained by the Navy, but mainly operated by the Army. We used two during Operation Iraqi Freedom. They transported personell and equipment from Bahrain to Kuwait City and into Iraqi after we secured a port there. It's a bad ass transport ship.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about arming journalists. Once they start carrying weapons, they lose their neutrality. If reporters are getting killed, the best bet is to keep them away from those areas.

Anyway, it's the IBA with the Deltoid and Axillary Protector(DAP). The DAP adds protection
to a soldier's shoulder and underarm area against IED fragments, it can also stop a 9mm round
from penetration.

I t was developed on the fly by 2 army officer's, they took the crotch part of the vest and put it under the arm of the vest and added an extra piece over the arm, it's now gone into manufacture, they'll bee10,000 in Iraq by Jan next year
