1. Through the story of the two main characters and their other relationships, we see many of the values and attitudes that Australians hold dear. What Australian values and attitudes do you see reflected in this film, and through what characters or events?
2. Describe the way the director, Peter Weir, has used film language particularrly effectively in one or two scenes in this film to convery the theme or mood. you should look at camera techniques, sound effects, music, lighting, costume, body language, etc.
Any of you lot can help me out, would be very greatly appreciated. I fell asleep in the movie when we watched it in class...

Well watch it again! It is possibly one of the best movies made about the era.
You should be ashamed.
write the following...
I love the poms and shall therefore refuse to write about Gallipoli

You should write something about how outstanding the Brit and ANZAC leadership was during the battle.

"Battle is a highly fluid situation. You plan on your contingencies, and I have. You keep your initiatives, and I will. One thing you don't do is share command. It's never a good idea."
Us Brit's had the most incompetent Generals in WW1. Bash the ruperts all you like.

Kitchener was the big boss, Hamilton ran Gallipoli and Churchill was first Lord of the Admiralty, I think.
Australian qualities shown would be mateship, a disregard for authority (particulary any of the bloody Poms), loyalty, integrity, solidarity. My memory of the film blurs a bit with the Gallipoli mini series so I can't pin any of those values or attitudes to a character or event.
You had better hop off to blockbuster and grab a DVD and watch it with the directors commentary. ;)

The ending is very good.
Leaves your mouth open in shock, and shows the ultimate futility of war imo.

Two things:
1.) It 's Gallipoli, not "Galliopli"
2.) Don't forget the Kiwi cousins ;)
